SleepyHead links in my signature line ..it works with Windows 8.1...and there's even a Mac version.
Your setting of 3 on the machine for humidifier is pretty much middle of the road and if the congestion is something you have always had but seems worse with cpap use then it may be the humidity.
Some people need more humidity and some people need less. It's a highly individual thing. One person might like to snort water and be happy (that would be me) and someone else might prefer much less. It's all about what the nasal mucosa wants or needs to make it happy.
I usually tell people that if they are using a higher humidity setting...try lower and see if the congestion lessens.
If they are using lower setting...try higher and see if congestion lessens.
If they are using a middle of the road setting...toss a coin. There's no right or wrong..there's only what makes your nasal mucosa happy.
I will tell you that I have used your machine without the heated hose and it won't deliver much humidity at that setting of 3 unless you are already living in a rain forest. It just won't do it at the default humidification system that it comes set to.
In other words..it isn't cranking out an enormous amount of moisture but your nose may need or want less....or it may want and need more....so toss a coin. See if one way or the other helps the congestion or makes it worse.

read through those two series of posts, play with it some, then read through 'em again, and a lot that didn't stick the first time will make sense the second time around
