Trying to turn ramp off

Post by Finnc » Sat Oct 25, 2014 2:37 pm

I have read my manual, gone to the home screen and the ramp screen is not there. I thought I was crazy so I sent my husband to try and he said the same thing. Is there a way for the DME to turn that feature off? Or are we just missing some step? I can be pretty clueless but he is usually really good with this type of stuff.

If you're talking about the "User" manual, you probably won't find it in there. You need the "Provider" instructions.

Here's some that should get you into the setup.

ResMed S9 AutoSet & Elite:
Plug in machine and turn the Push Dial until the device is showing the Home position (Home Icon illuminated).
In Home position, press the Push Dial and the Setup Menu buttons down simultaneously for 3 seconds.
The clinician menu will appear.
Select parameter(s) you wish to modify with the Push Dial (push down to select, turn to modify).
When done, select the <<home choice from the displayed menu and the adjustment is saved.

You probably have to get into the clinicians screen.
Go and look up the manual for your machine on line. The one they gave you is the dumbed down version.

I see no clinician settings to make ramp mandatory.

are you missing the wedge shaped icon on the home screen?

the only clinician setting for ramp is max ramp, which is off-45, and start pressure.

You're looking for the Max Ramp feature in the clinician's menu to enable that on the user screen I think.

I believe that the ramp can be set to either patient or clinician only.
Yours is probably set for clinician, so you need to set it to zero or "off" in that menu.
I could look, but my S9 is put away now.

From the manual:

Max ramp - 45 minutes - Off–45 minutes, 5-minute increments
Limits the ramp times the patient may select.

are you trying to turn it ON, or OFF, as the title says?

I want it off. So the pressure is just the same from the minute I put it on.

That worked, it was already turned off though. I think the head cold is what's getting in my way right now.

But y'all are all so helpful. Thank you so much.
