Re: OT: ~49er

Best wishes 49er, I didn't realize until today that you were in treatment. It seems like only yesterday we were discussing the merits of different colon preps. You have everyone pulling for you, including many cancer veterans.

Re: Newly Diagnosed Yesterday (still sinking in)

People here all understand what you are going through. No one likes the idea of needing CPAP therapy for the rest of their life, but it would be unrealistic for a doctor to imply that it will be temporary. CPAP is almost always like glasses or a hearing aid, something that compensates for a disorder...

He looks like a rooster...his name is Roster.
But when he signed his name, he always signed "rooster".

Pick a very old post - maybe the person is dead and won't challenge your bad statement.

Re: OT: Colonoscopy Prep

Did you have surgery to remove your cancer, are you an ostomate? I had surgery but no colostomy. In the great majority of cases, bowel resection for cancer does not require one. The bad section is removed and what's left is sewn back together -- what surgeons call an end-to-end anastomosis. Before ...

Re: OT: Colonoscopy Prep

Thank you for your kind comment, 49er. Since the colon cancer I've been through two episodes of bladder cancer. I'm now determined to keep a close watch over my pancreas and prostate. It's a rough neighborhood down there!

Re: OT: Colonoscopy Prep

I survived colon cancer, but one result was to put me on more frequent scopings than average, so I have been through this quite a few times. Drinking the prep as cold as you can get it is very helpful. Using a straw cuts down on the time that the distasteful solution spends passing over your tongue....

Re: Should Trump Drop Out

Boy, I'll sure be glad to see this depressing thread dead and buried. Hopefully tomorrow. Yeah, it looks like nobody dropped out, so I guess we'll just have to have an election after all. We had better have it now. I'm too exhausted to go on. I have spent the last three days in a swing state knocki...

Re: Should Trump Drop Out

I heard (wiki-leaks) where the Clinton foundation paid 3 million dollars for Chelsey Clinton's wedding. That's charitable, not honest and ethical but at least it's charitable. That is a lie. Show your source. This is the last one I'll give you but you could google it if you like. http://www.dailyma...

Re: Should Trump Drop Out

I'm not sure what it even means to "drop out" at this point. Whatever Trump or the party decides, states will still elect panels of electors from lists that already exist and the electoral college will still elect a president and vice-president. There are too many sets of state laws figure out to kn...

Re: Bribed by Big Sugar to Demonize Fat in the Diet

It is a shoddy story, that's for sure, and I don't doubt that industry efforts were made to influence nutrition science. I have to ask, though, why did this special interest prevail over the competing influence peddlers? The victory of Big Sugar was at the expense of Big Meat and Big Egg. Where were...

Re: Should Trump Drop Out

I think the pace of Republican defections from the Trump cause will pick up after his most recent remark today: “Hillary wants to abolish, essentially, the Second Amendment,” he said. “By the way, and if she gets the pick—if she gets the pick of her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Se...

Re: Forgot my mask!

Lists are good. Unfortunately, I don't think it would ever occur to me to list the various parts separately. That would be sort of like writing down "left sock, right sock." My downfall was throwing the unit, hose, and power cord into the suitcase, and then, while adding the mask, having the bright ...
