Re: Doc does't have card reader -solved
For future readers: If you are not using insurance there is no need for compliance there is no need for the doc to see this or review a card. If the doc still wants hours of use the doc can get what is needed from the machine, bring the machine in. Apparently this doc doesn't know that or just want...

Re: Just noticed black mold on my humidifier
If you drop the part into boiling water, and leave it long enough for the heat to penetrate into the entire part, all the mold will die. Even if it's seeped into the plastic (or metal) and is completely sealed in, it will die and won't regrow. The fact that heat will penetrate anything, given enough...

Re: Just noticed black mold on my humidifier
Is it on the tank or the humidifier itself? If it's on the tank, it's not that expensive to buy a new one at cpap.com, our host, or elsewhere online. Be sure to get the dishwashable tank. I recommend a spare tank anyway. That way, if one breaks, you're OK. You can also clean one and let the other on...

Re: Study: "CPAP machines do not reduce heart attack, strokes"
This part is interesting: "Patients were excluded from the study if they reported severe daytime sleepiness (Epworth Sleepiness Scale score >15; scores range from 0 to 24, with higher scores indicating greater severity) or were considered to have an increased risk of an accident from falling asleep,...

Re: Study: "CPAP machines do not reduce heart attack, strokes"
I wonder how much of the fault here lies with ABC news vs. the authors of this study. ABC chose to title the article: "CPAP machines do not reduce heart attack, strokes for sleep apnoea sufferers: study" How about if they titled it: "Part night usage of CPAP does not reduce heart attack, strokes for...

Correction: CPAP doesn't help if you don't use it regularly
So many things wrong here. Needs more than one post. Let's see. 3.3 hours of CPAP usage over an "average" 8 hours of sleep. Let's be generous and call that 50% usage. Let's try a study where diabetics spend one week watching what they eat, testing blood sugar, and taking insulin, alternated with one...

Re: I forgot to write-protect SD card before uploading to Sleepy
I suspect the reports that Win 8/10 machines will write to the SD card, even if protected are greatly exaggerated. If the switch/sensor on the card reader is broken, it won't protect your SD card no matter what the operating system. However, I suspect that many of those reports are from someone who ...

Re: angry child
My 6yr Grandson is having anger issues. We are working on that. But he peed into my water chamber of my bi-pap. Am I to worry What CPAP machine do you have? In my experience, the Respironics System One, M series, and the older legacy water tanks will survive being disassembled, cleaned, and then dr...

Re: Will tap water damage my machine?
First off, stop and think a bit. If the water is safe to drink, bathe, and shower in, it seems obvious to me that breathing air that blows across it is not going to be hazardous to your health, at least when the water is fresh. Many parts of the world don't have readily available distilled water, an...

Re: Is it possible to get usage from an older c-pap
My c-pap is at least 10 years old, has no modem or s-d card. Is it possible to get usage report or do I need a new machine? What machine do you have? Take out the water tank, and tell us everything printed on the top and the label. Or post a picture on imgur.com and post a link. Why do you need "us...

Re: resetting clock on s-10,a-10 res med
However you cannot turn the clock back, so what do you when you change to Standard Time from Daylight Savings time? I realize that for most people it doesn't make a difference when when the cpap starts a new day in regard to data but just asking. You CAN turn the clock back, you just can't turn it ...

"SWISSeau is 100% natural and organic. Organic..... water Yes I am not sure how they can make water "organic" Add some carbon molecules? Some green slime? Re: Proving the Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP is in fact a brick
And yes, you absolutely SHOULD fight to get a real fully capable CPAP machine. Or pay for one out of pocket if you must.
But if you have an Escape Auto or A10 CPAP, there is useful data there.

Re: Proving the Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP is in fact a brick
I disagree with calling the AirSense 10 CPAP model a "brick." you're welcome to be wrong... it's just as much of a brick as the old escape auto was. and should be avoided just as vigorously. It's much less of a brick than the Escape, Respironics Plus, Respironics SE, DS250/260, or many other "true"...

Re: CPAPs for Sale on Craig's List
Some probably come from DME's, and are "legit" as in "not stolen." The DME's rent them to someone who fails compliance, then gets back a used machine and doesn't want to resell it as new. They collect a certain amount of money from the original customer and insurance. They then sell them to someone ...
