Re: ASV Help needed - Low Pressure Support
I am not using ASV at this time. I never had a problem with central apneas...I just bought one privately for grins just to try it out. I play with different kinds of machines just for fun. If I were in the market and needing ASV....I would look seriously at the ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV....I hav...

Re: ASV Help needed - Low Pressure Support
I don't know what requirements might need to be met. Whomever supplied the machine should be able to tell you but I would also make a call directly to my insurance company and see what they say. Often what the insurance says isn't the same as what the DME says because DMEs often come up with their ...

Re: ASV Help needed - Low Pressure Support
My guess is one of the sensors on the motherboard is going bad. Time for a new machine. I had that happen with my PR S1 ASV machines and no one could figure out the problem but the repair facility replaced the entire motherboard as a safety measure since it was still under warranty..... and I never...

ASV Help needed - Low Pressure Support
I haven't been on here in a long time because my PR ASV was working great. I was averaging about .3 AHI all the time. My machine will be 5 yrs old in Sept and has 10426 blower hours. The machine started sounding the alarm every hour or so for "Low Pressure Support" until I have to take it off to get...

Re: High Pressure Mask
I went through 8 masks before finding the right one. I use the Airfit P10 pillows. It is not a mask that is recommended for high pressure but it has been the only one that worked for me. My inhalation pressure starts at 20 and goes up to 25 sometimes on a ASV. For the mouth, I've trained myself to k...

Re: Hubby's sleepyhead graphs self-titrating
I'll try to answer both of your questions: Yes, he is tired every day no matter what the AHI is. His AHI started around 9 or 10 and gradually worked down and ranges between 1.5 to 4.5 if you subtract the CA when we know he is awake. That one night was his worst. Meds are HBP, Chlolestrol, aspirin, t...

Re: Hubby's sleepyhead graphs self-titrating
perhaps go up another half if he's comfortable with the pressure, how's he resting (except for that bad night?) He is very tired almost every day and sleeps alot during the day too.] also, I'd uncheck that box on the preferences that says "show unknown flags", because, they're cluttering things up,...

Re: Hubby's sleepyhead graphs self-titrating
I think the sharp spikes you are referring to are the pressure probes...looks sort of like a saw tooth pattern. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t80875/Respironics-APAP-pressure-test-probes-close-up.html They are looking particularly spiky due to the scale of the graph. Thanks. I did not know that...

Hubby's sleepyhead graphs self-titrating
Just a brief history - start date was 1/30/15. Pressure was 5-20. We changed it to 8-20 after first day per guidance on this site. He has now been using it for 14 days. His AHI is gradually coming down but he is still real tired to the point that when he sits down, he falls asleep. I am posting seve...

Re: Chin Straps?
I don't use a commercial chin strap. I went to a local store (one being a grocery store) and found a lady's head band. It is made with very soft material, wide on one end and narrow on the other. I use it upside down from the intended purpose with the wide part under my chin. It works perfect for me...

Re: King of the Newbies here!
Welcome! I remember what it was like 5 months ago when all this was thrown at me. It is a lot to absorb but it does get better. There are a lots of post at the top of the main page for help and a good search that will let you put in any topic that might come up and read whats been talked about befor...

Re: first night on vpap auto
I thought I'd share my experience. I use the P10 and my pressure run between 21 and 25. I had to do some changes to keep my mouth shut but have finally figured it out. I couldn't keep a FFM on my face as it kept waking me up all night with air blowing into my eyes or farting sounds. So I tried a DME...

Re: new to VPAP
Your mask leak problem sounds so familiar. I tried 4 Full Face Mask that created the Farting sounds all night with my high pressure and then tried 4 pillows. I settled on the P10 and love it. My pressures start at 21 and very often go up to 25. I average between 22-23 for inhalation. So yes - some p...

Re: Tonight is 1st night for my hubby and on to 2nd night
Thanks Pugsy. He will also wear a chin strap tonight in case he is mouth breathing a lot during the night. He is not getting any leaks but I sure don't like the straps at the back of the head. They are too big and no way to tighten that section. Once he gets use to the machine, I'll have him try the...

Re: Tonight is 1st night for my hubby and on to 2nd night
Here is his 2nd night chart. He had no problem with starting the pressure at 8. He didn't even use the ramp last night. He was able to stay on it for almost 6 hrs and felt better than the first night. He still has a lot of activity going on. His machine is so quiet that I can't hear him over my ASV ...
