Just got my machine and used it for the first time last night. I was up every 3 hours with stuffy dry nose, dripping nose, mask separating from my face when I lay on my side, terrible vivid dreams, and totally uncomfortable experience. Today I feel like I have whip lash, my neck is so stiff. I also battled constantly waking up freezing cold and I am NEVER cold at night. My brain feels less cloudy but my head hurts and don't really feel rested. Someone please tell me all this is temporary. Ughhh

Hi debbydebs1,

Welcome to the forum and sorry about your rough start. If you could use the link in my signature to fill out your equipment profile, that would be very helpful so members could better tailor their responses to your situation.

Hard to say exactly what is going on. What type of machine do you have? Hopefully, you can use the links in my profile for downloading sleepyhead and posting screenshots so members can better advise you as to what is happening in your situation.

Do you know what your current pressure is? Many members are given a wide open prescription of 4-20 which is a disaster and could possibly be causing some of your problems. Hard to say though without seeing your equipment and data.

Hang in there.

Welcome to the forum, Debby.
It is not uncommon to have some break-in period; but your humidity may need some tweaking until you find
YOUR correct level. Please register and fill in your equipment--text, not icons --so we can help.
Masks and bed pillows are often an issue--starting out with the wrong style/size is sadly too common.

It's temporary but you may need to make some adjustments to improve on things.

First of all...nasal symptoms are usually tied to humidity. Google "cpap rhinitis" to see what I mean.
If you aren't using a humidifier...use one.
Some people's nose needs more moisture to be happy and some people's nose needs less...it's just the way it is...there is no right or wrong...there's just what works for the individual.
If you are using a humidifier...at what setting are you using?
I usually tell people if they are using a low setting...turn it up
If they are using a high setting ...turn it down
If they are using a medium setting...toss a coin.

Also..please register and add your equipment to your profile like I have mine.
It will help us to help you better if we can see at a glance what you are already using.

Are you using a heated hose or not? That opens up more options.

You can't expect to feel better if your sleep is horrible...there are ways to make mask issues less of a problem but we need to know which mask you are using so we can offer specific ideas.

You may need a different bed pillow to make the mask issues lessen.
Stiff neck..you bet we get them trying to sleep in awkward positions to keep the mask from moving. When properly sized and fitted...the mask shouldn't move no matter how much movement you need to do.

Nothing you have mentioned is new...lots of people have complained about the very same issues. They can be worked out and yes...it does get better but sometimes it does take some work to get there.

Once you register and log in here at the forum...this explains how to add your equipment to your profile in case you can't figure it out.
