Missing Day in Sleepyhead
Last night was missing when I uploaded my SD card today.
Is there any way I can get this info onto the card?
I think the card was not inserted properly.

no, that data is written directly to the card, so if your card wasn't in the machine, there was nowhere for it to be written to.TyroneShoes wrote:Last night was missing when I uploaded my SD card today.

It has to be written from somewhere, so there has to be temp storage in the S9. Probably no good way to coax it back out onto the card, I guess. I was hoping just putting the card back in might do it, but no go. I figured it reads the card and determines whether it is locked or not, so why not have a routine that says "Oh, by the way, I still have this data from last night in memory and didn't see a card to put it on. I guess I'll put it on the card you just inserted". That would make too much ergonomic sense.
This blows...it will upset my stats for the next 30 days.

Re: Missing Day in Sleepyhead
The usage hours and summary data are on the SD card but the detailed data graph files are not...SleepyHead needs those files to do anything and without all the files SH comes up with 0 usage...it's a limitation of the software.
You can use ResScan and your summary and usage hours will be shown in it and won't mess up the overall usage like it seems to in SleepyHead.
But you won't have any detailed graphs available.
Your DME will be using ResScan if compliance usage worried you...those hours will show up on ResScan and not mess up 30 days compliance usage at all.
There's nothing you can do to make SH compute data that it doesn't have the needed files for.

yes, it's written somewhere, it's written *TO THE SD CARD*...TyroneShoes wrote:It has to be written from somewhere, so there has to be temp storage in the S9..

Re: Missing Day in Sleepyhead
Thank you, King of gross oversimplifications. Very helpful.
Oddly enough, when I went to read today's data, some of Sunday's data (missing yesterday) was now there. Three different items, including AHI reported as 1.15. The machine said AHI was 4.0 when I checked it Monday morning, so there is an unexplained disconnect there.
I am going to view this like the stock market. A few ticks one way or the other should be ignored. Large changes, or trends, are probably what is important.

An excellent analogy -- and for pretty much the same reasons.TyroneShoes wrote:I am going to view this like the stock market. A few ticks one way or the other should be ignored. Large changes, or trends, are probably what is important.
Let's just hope none of us have any October market crashes!

I'm not sure how much more complicated you'd like "the data is written directly to the sd card" to be? you missed the point the first time, trying to make like there was some buffer that it'd save it up for you, even though the documentation says otherwise...TyroneShoes wrote:Thank you, King of gross oversimplifications. how 'bout if I say "if you don't put the card in properly, then all the bits with your data spew out the card slot and just fall to the ground... you'll see them as a light powdery covering over things, most people think that's dust, but it's really the bits from your computer that get lost"
would that help?

Re: Missing Day in Sleepyhead
The newer versions of SH can read compliance only data. It showed 2 missing days that now have time used against them

Uh, no. Not in the least; way to stay consistent, though. I'll give you that much.palerider wrote: I'm not sure how much more complicated you'd like "the data is written directly to the sd card" to be? you missed the point the first time, trying to make like there was some buffer that it'd save it up for you, even though the documentation says otherwise...

I think you actually might be the one who missed the point, which is that while I am always grateful for anyone's help, you are probably the last person on this forum, due to your regular pattern of behavior, that I would ever expect a straight answer from or help from. That should not come as a shock to you, or to anyone.
I come here for help, and to share the little I know. But I can only direct questions to the community at large. If I could exclude you, don't you think I would? Don't you think maybe a lot of us would?
I honestly mean no offense, but it would be pretty easy for anyone to miss the point of the things you say. It is surprising how many people think that whatever falls out of their keyboard might actually be clever. Few of us actually come here for "clever", and fewer of us ever find it here. I hope that isn't too surprising. My mother used to say "ask a silly question; get a silly answer". I think that applies to curt, unhelpful responses as well.
So, "how 'bout if" you just don't say anything just this one time.
That said, I still read your posts, still love you. But making peace is often nice too, and I'm willing if you are.
