miketaylor wrote: Your very wrong about that. Most tap water contains handfuls of chemicals they used to treat the water (fluoride, chlorine & much more). It also has minerals and other things. The EPA only regulates certain chemicals in our water. Everything else is not accounted for! You don't want to be inhaling these chemicals all night. You MUST use distilled water.

People actually drink that crap! Anything coming out of a faucet is NOT good for you. It upsets homeostatic mechanisms and contains many endocrine-disrupting compounds.

Distilled water removes toxins from your body and has a ppm of 0. Its pure. Its ph is 7.

This information was found from reputable sources.
You shower in this water. You breath in many more water droplets doing that then you would using a cpap humidifier.

So you prefer to drink untreated water with all the nasty germs that could kill you in a week? You actually need many of the minerals found in regular water. If you are paranoid about chlorine all you have to do is let the water sit for an hour before using it in your humidifier or drinking it.

That distilled water goes into your stomach which contains hydrochloric acid (which will burn holes in your lab coat if you spill it) in order to break down food, the ph of the water is irrelevant.

Well, I wonder how the OP made out since his original post was well over a month ago and he said,

Distilled water is not pure. There is still cap in it after distilling. Not much but it is there

Last time I was through TSA there was a delay while they inspected my bag..... had an interesting discussion about watter.

YOU CAN BRING IN ICE NO PROBLEM.... JUST NOT LIQUID WATER.

So if you really want to you can freeze the watter and you can bring it through as a carry on.... I would puti it in something to collect condensation.

BUT, I would also vote for tap water, just easier.

I JUST TRIED TO FIND THE POLICY ON ICE ON THEIR WEB SITE, BUT COULD NOT FIND ONE.

You certainly can - I have done it many, many times.

Could it be there is NOT a policy on freezing water?
IF you want to freeze if fine but it is NOT required by TSA (or anyone else for that matter).
If you have further questions simply Google "3-1-1 Liquids Rule".

I just went through Las Vegas and other places. Even with the special bottle. If it isn't a sleeping flight it goes into your non carry on bag. No one made me open my Cpap bag or even gave it a second glance. It was viewed through the machine but nothing else.

That is one way to handle it no doubt. But the fact is distilled water is permitted in your carry-on - drinking water is NOT.

However, you can bring an empty water bottle thru the TSA checkpoint (with no troubles at all) and fill it with water to drink on the other side rather than pay $4 for drinking water.

OK, fun post, probably OBE, but fun.....

now back to my comment on not finding a policy on ioce with TSA.......

DAAAAAAAA

ice is a solid. The policy applies to liquids and gels...... solids need not apply..

more daaaaaa moments since the brain surgery.
