I've had my CPAP equipment for a little less than a month now.
The FlexFit 405 seems to working fine, except for one thing. It is absolutely destroying the bridge of my nose. Every morning I wake up with a red spot across the bridge of my nose. Some times it is to the point where I'll have a small cut/sore.
I'd swear that the mask is too short.
If I adjust it so that the top of the mask is against the top of my nose, and against my face, I can't breath out of my nose. So it goes farther down and destroys the bridge of my nose.
Is there anything longer? Am I doing something wrong.
BTW. I also "modified" the mask. There was a piece of the mask that was on the top on the inside that was shaped like a step, with the point of the step going to the inside. I've worked a lot with plastics in my life, so I realized this wasn't structural. I can't believe that wasn't a hazard.
Thanks up front.

Re: Flexfit 405 destroying the bridge of my nose
You probably need a different mask. Check out cpap.com & look at other types of masks. If you can, try the nasal pillows, this will keep the bridge of your nose free & allow it time to heal. If you must have a full face mask, there are many others to choose from. Ask your DME if they have a 'switch' policy & they may be able to swap your current mask for one that will fit better.
Also, as LSAT said, you can use nose protection & keep your current mask, if that is what you prefer. Either way, you do need to make changes to protect that skin.

If you need something bigger/longer, maybe you need to investigate another mask.

You can also purchase some mole skin which is a thin padding to line your mask part of the nose. You can also try foam.

Re: Flexfit 405 destroying the bridge of my nose
I have tried a couple of the full face masks by this company,
and they have been the unkindest things where my nose is concerned.
Luckily, there are other brands, other styles, and nobody should have to
abide a mask that does not work for their face.

Re: Flexfit 405 destroying the bridge of my nose
I tried a couple of nasal masks and full face masks. They all hurt my nose. Then I discovered nasal pilows, and went through a few types of those. Now using the P10 pillows, large size, with a dab of Lansinoh on each pillow. No more sores. I do use a chin strap with a piece of Velcro to hold the hose in place. Works well for me.
