Software

Post by Culebra » Wed Oct 01, 2014 6:53 pm

I'm in the process of choosing my first machine. I'm looking for one that will offer a software package that will provide the user with the best usable data on a daily or weekly basis. I liked the idea of the Phillips Bluetooth device & app, but the reviews were mixed. What say you?

One word. SleepyHead. Cross-platform and free. Will work with virtually every machine that has efficacy data. So you don't need to pick the machine by the software available.

The Phillips Respironics SleepMapper program (that's the blue tooth thing) extremely limited in terms of the data it offers.
Pretty much it only shows what is available on the machine's LCD screen.
The machine actually collects a lot more data but you need either Sleepyhead software or Encore to see it.

SleepMapper isn't particularly useful but they make it sound so ultra cool. Google it to see what little it offers or search the forum here for it as we have talked about it in the past.
Not worth the cost of the blue tooth thingy IMHO.

Check out my signature line for information on Sleepyhead...check out the tutorial as it has examples posted of some of the stuff you can see.

First of all, you need a machine that is fully data-capable. I suggest reading the following link.

Look at the links in my signature line. I'd recommend the Philips Respironics PRS1 or ResMed S9 or AirSense 10 (A10) models.

Even once you do that, there are certain models to avoid.
