However, I am thinking what to do with it.

1. I don't think I should sell it. I detest the machine and I think that it would be wrong to take money for it.

2. I could give it away. For someone with no money it would be useful and it would prevent a company earning money by selling a brick. But then perhaps I am legitimizing it as a valid piece of medical equipment.

3. I could destroy it while photo documenting it to express what we think about bricks and make a performance art protest over bricks.

It is a Remstar Plus C-flex. Absolutely don't record anything except the hours it was worn.
I called SeconWindCpap several weeks ago and they offered me $75.00 for mine (exactly the same unit). It was in great shape and had less than 10 hours on it though.

Many of the homeless are veterans; having given more than should have ever been asked.

the 50 series have a design flaw where the connection to the airflow and pressure sensors gets loose.

we had another member recently open his up and reseat the board in the upper right corner area and he said that fixed it.

you need a couple torx drivers and that's all, the prs1 machines are easy to open up.
Whoa! One of my machines is a PR 50 series. <files info away for future reference>

Strongly suggest giving it away to someone who truly needs one and cannot afford one. It can be the difference between life and death believe it or not. There are white papers out there that like OSA to a variety of other afflictions, not the least of which are stroke, depression, etc. Keep one for a spare. If you have a third... and any spare masks in good shape (they can generally be disinfected using Control III or the like) you would be doing someone a blessing. Clean it up, pack it up and take it to your local church, synagogue, Lions Club, Shriners Temple, etc., who may be better able to ascertain need. Good luck.

If you would decide to donate/give away. Accurate Biomed will go through it and replace filters, check out, etc. at no charge and pick up the shipping. There are people we frequently encounter that just don't have the resources to purchase one and they really are in need. Just contact us and mention this post.

I haven't seen any 'offical' "yeah, we 'effed up" sort of thing, but, they *did* change the design in the 60 series by putting a big honkin screw through the circuit board to hold the sensors down tight. I'd call that damning evidence

Only problem with giving away, say to a veteran, is the possibility of death. It could come back to haunt the giver. Just my 2 cents on the subject. AND I agree that we gave more than ever asked Unfortunately, some gave it all
