I love my ResMed AirFit F10 For Her FF mask

Post by VikingGnome » Mon Sep 29, 2014 4:41 am

After struggling for months with my leaky Hans Rudolph, it was time for a change. I got the new ResMed AirFit F10 FOR Her full face mask, size extra small. Wow. What a difference. It is light weight. Unobtrusive. Rarely leaks. And stays put all night. It is amazing what a difference a good, well-fitting mask can do. I don't even need Pad-A-Check headgear covers but will be getting mask liner. I'm spoiled now and don't like the feel of silicone on my face and the perspiration it causes. The lower part of the mask does not press against my lower teeth and gums making them sore. Easy to sleep on side on normal pillow.

At first, I did notice that the mask tended to creep up my face at night with top part getting close to eyes. Tightening up the lower straps and making sure the back of the headgear is as low as it's supposed to be solved that problem. I have not had the lower part of the mask go into my mouth when I open mouth to breathe. Had that problem with other FF masks but this one is just perfect.

A few oddities: The quick disconnect removes the swivel from the mask instead of swivel from hose. That takes some getting used to. Also, no mask clips. The folded-over headgear goes over a plastic post on the mask support. Wonder how long that plastic post will with constant tension and pulling of straps to tighten mask?

I have also been using the F10 for 2 or 3 months. Of course..not for her-model... Anyway, my mask was also creeping up. I tightened the bottom straps as you also indicated. I'm interested to see what my leak rate was (I have to wait until the wife gets up before I get my nightly data). I don't see an issue with the strap-post breaking. Great mask!

I agree with both previous posts. It's a good mask and has been a big success for me. I like the post and headgear connection and the light weight a lot. The snap-in elbow is a neat feature, much much better than the old Quattro FX force fit mess. I rarely get leaks but when I do they tend to be whoppers... I'm not sure why that is because my mask doesn't ride up since I started using my 'bike cuff strap' to loop around the lower straps of the headgear. It's easy to clean too.

The only real problem is that it's way too damned expensive

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Yeah, any leaks for me tend to be loud face farts. Even my dog gets startled. It hasn't happened during the night but some times while settling down and I need to make some minor adjustments.

I just picked one of these up today to replace my Quattro FX. I had unfortunately got my CPAP setup right when these came out, so my DME didn't have them yet. Looking forward to trying it out tonight! It seems to be a big improvement in both design/function & comfort. I too also got the "for her" model. The DME said it had slightly smaller headgear, not just the pink color instead of blue inside the headgear. My Quattro FX headgear always had a weird gap between the straps and my head at the intersection. Hoping that this cushion design lasts me longer...my main issue is that after a couple weeks it doesn't seem to get all the way clean (retaining facial oils). Best wishes.
