newbie with drooling and still snoring

Post by rino7603 » Mon Sep 29, 2014 6:50 pm

I am completely new to all of this and I have a few questions. I am sure if I searched for months on this site I might find them, but I hope this is quicker.
I have machine for a week now. Full mask Simplus. I am drooling all night and my wife says I am still snoring, however not as loud. The snoring of course comes when I am on my back, however I am drooling a lot on my side. Are these both normal or no? I have humidity set at 2 for a few days then moved up to 4 for last few. Drooling is the same. I didn't think I should still be snoring AT ALL. Or maybe I am wrong.

Any Help Or Ideas?

Snoring means the airway tissues are still trying to collapse a little...maybe the therapy is not quite optimal especially when on your back when it's common to maybe need a little more pressure.

Your machine offers some data....what does it say?
What are your pressure settings?
Leaks?

Do you even know about what your machine might show you? There is software available but you need a special module with the Devilbiss to get the more detailed data that the software shows you.
Do you have the manual that tells you what you can see on the machine and how to get to it?
If not you can request it here.

Drooling is fairly common...annoying but common. If it's too yucky you might get a mask liner to help absorb the moisture so it isn't so annoying.

Padacheek makes some nice liners that are washable and can be used for months and months or you can make your own out of an old T shirt.

I know nothing about the machine other than how to change the humidity level and where the codes are I will need to give the medical provider. Also they said my pressure setting of 8 was prescribed by my doctor and preset.

I can download the software but will I need a special cable to plug into the machine?

You need a special module to be able to have the machine write the data to a medium that uses the software with your computer.

You can get the information that the doctor gets with the codes yourself though. Easy to do.
See this page and plug in the codes and you can get the same data that the doc gets.
See where is says "track your therapy"
