Hello - I am using the Nuance mask, and also wondering when the nasal pillows need replacing. I am purchasing my supplies & equipment out of pocket (not thru insurance), and am trying to find info here regarding how to tell when you need to replace pillows. I tired finding the pillows on Ebay, but no luck yet.

One of the more experienced members will likely come along soon and help us with this

I just tried and there are sellers on EBay offering the nasal pillows.
Search for "Nuance nasal pillow"
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Nua ... mfe=search

I have used the Nuance but not long enough to have any idea on replacement time frame. I would expect that it would be like the other nasal pillows I have use though....get months of use.

Thanks for the info, Pugsy & HS.

Pugsy - thanks also for the Ebay link.

What kinds of things would indicate when a new nasal pillow is needed? I read something here in the forum about the nasal pillows having a 'double-wall' and one of them collapsing, but I can't see a double-wall when I look at the pillows.

I haven't seen a "double wall" either
Since I have always got months and months of use out of a nasal pillow I don't know that I really can tell someone something that is an exact warning sign that the pillows are getting tired.
Inability to get and maintain a good seal would be one thing to look for. Even that is going to be more subjective.....
I am still using the same P10 nasal pillows that I started with mid Jan of this year. Not even rotating them which was something I did with the Swift FX nasal pillows.
So there's no clear cut warning sign that the pillows are too tired to be used anymore. At least for me anyway.
I think with time and experience you will see what I mean.

The nuance pillows don't seem to be double walled to me. The P10 pillows get a slightly "ragged" edge as they started to fail. First set after six weeks, current ones still OK after 7. I have a very sweaty face and nose so maybe the oil and salt are doing a number on the rubber.

if you look down into the nose hole of the p10 pillows, you'll see there's an inner cone and an outer cone.

I that's probably the 'double wall' they're talking about.

Well I'll be damned. Had to take it outside in the daylight to see it but there it is. Never noticed it before but then never really looked that close either.

if you don't squeeze them out of shape, or get it at the right angle, it's pretty easy to miss.

there was something in the resmed p10 video about what to do (squeeze around on them) if the inner cone gets out of place due to washing or whatever.

The inner cones can get inverted then the leaks go up and I find the pillow itchy. I check them every night...
