Medicare DME for Circadience

Post by Islandwoman » Fri Sep 19, 2014 12:10 pm

I could not find a DME that would provide a Circadiance Advance mask for me even though covered by Medicare. I called Circadiance and was given another online company "Verus Health Care". Saw a couple of other posts about similar situations and hope this info might help someone.
I am now all set up to receive a new mask and replacements as needed. I have been using my current one since the beginning of the year. It still works with never a large leak but more small ones than I like in the last month. They seem to be durable as well as comfortable.

I have used all four Sleepweaver masks.
I prefer the Elan. Have you looked at it? One of the main differences is the swivel where the hose connects.

After a 3 month battle I convinced Apria to provide me with the Sleepweaver Elan.
I hate to recomend them and will warn you, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD!
But they may be a source.

Apria provided my machine. The technician tried but corporate Apria said no. The staff/techs at my local office are great but they have no power. Now that all orders are centralized I am only able to speak with someone, somewhere answering phones. Their mantra seems to be "just say no".
I did try the Elan which I got through another local DME as it was the only Sleepweaver they would cover(grandfathered I guess from a previous owner) but only in beige. I had trouble with the fit and the strap location s.It was the only Sleepweaver number in their computer it seems.
Hopefully I will receive the Advance in leopard within a week.

Something I have been noticing lately, when I go to sleep I usually turn the lights off and close my eyes. At that point it is very difficult to tell what color my mask is. In addition I can't see my mask without a mirror. I seldom bring a mirror to bed with me.
Anyone who sees me while I am in bed with my mask on, has long since learned to accept me for who I am and not what color mask I may have on. What's more with the lights out and their eyes closed they also have a difficult time discerning the color of the mask.

You can write on the lighter color masks, date of first use, etc.

I got the beige figuring it didn't really matter but it didn't fit well. My leopard Advance fits and as every woman knows accessories make the outfit, in this case it is the outfit.
