BOOST - Sports Oxygen

I've been using about 4 squirts during my 6 min of exercise on my treadmill.
So far I see an improvement in my fatigue and SaO2 levels.

I get better results with a fresh can(PFSST). Toward the end(pfssssst) of the can it deteriates. A can (up to 150 PFsst's) lasts me about 4-5 weeks.

My opinion: Exercise is good. It increases O2 level in the blood, which circulates to the cells, including the all imp0ortant brain. Supplementing this effort with concentrated O2 must be a good thing. But those who find a mrked improvement or use it ouside of an exercise routine should probably be talking to their doctor about a more permanant solution.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experiences with Boost - Sports Oxygen.

My concern is that the strain of trying to get O2 out of the air with the normal concentration is probably what drives cardio vascular fitness.

Your body attempts to improve to make sure there is adequate SpO2. Increasing the O2 in your intake actually might lessen cardio vascular fitness since you wouldn't need it, and you aren't straining to get the O2.

Runners, hikers, and others often practice at higher altitudes where the pO2 in the atmosphere is lower to develop and push cardo vascular fitness.

Though if your cardio vascular fitness was limiting the exercise of muscular systems, the O2 would be of help for muscular exercise.

This is my thoughts on it from a chemical engineer and scientist, but I am not an expert in this specific area. I would advise thought investigating the scientific literature.

Thanks Sleepy. I appreciate hearing another Engineers perspective. And I am concerned about the the issued you raised.

But I was really hoping to hear from others who have used oxygen to enhance exercise.

In terms of apnea, realize it's only a few minutes worth of breaths. Any effect you have from a squirt of O2 will be gone in a few breaths.

Thanks Archangle. You're right. It won't help the apnea per se. But it may enhance the exercise program for a fellow (central) apnea patient whose O2 level is low to begin with.

(Mild to moderate) exercise is good.
