Re: Poll: How Old Are CPAP Users?

Just revisited this thread. Results have become a pretty good bell curve, even with skewing elements. Statistically significant, in any case. If you let yourself get old and fat, you have an uphill battle and will .end up blowing your retirement on medical care, just as the American corporate system...

Re: What's wrong with using tap water?

I'm paying $2.75 a gallon for distilled water here in New Hamsterdam. Paying $259 for a device to distill my own seems logical. This is getting to be a real pain in the ass. So many flies to swat. But after a month and a half on xpap; the benefits far outweigh the minor annoyances. Until they come u...

Re: Non-linear, fractal nature of the cardiopulmonary system

It is a heck of a lot better then NOT breathing however. Amen BlackSpinner. I am absolutely thrilled with the results of my therapy--it has truly changed my life, and even with the unpleasantness of the hose and mask, I will certainly continue using the machine for the rest of my life. But you have...

Non-linear, fractal nature of the cardiopulmonary system

A regular, steady sinusoidal heartbeat is actually an indicator of a diseased heart: http://www.siam.org/pdf/news/353.pdf Seems like healthy breathing should be non-linear as well. Is this commonly acknowledged and implemented by sleep docs yet? I've been being treated for "complex apnea" for the la...

Re: Unzombified, Baby!

Still at it. Actually did a full 8 hours withan AHI of 2.3. Got my heated tube yesterday after a rainout the day before. Keep pulling the mask off my face so enabled leak alarm. Heated tube is great. Seem to have ingested some air last night and it rumbled through my alimentary canal throughout the ...

Would be nice if you added Tapatalk our similar open source capability for Android mobile users. Should not be difficult to implement.

Re: Unzombified, Baby!

Really appreciate the encouragement and caveats. This forum has been an invaluable source of inspiration and information.

Went out celebrating last night and woke up with the mask on the floor, hehe.

Not the best follow-up performance.

Unzombified, Baby!

Another Walker has miraculously joined the ranks of the living, today. Too good to be true? I fucking hope not. Just had my first night of actual sleep in several years, albeit with with a friendly yet Goldmanesque "Giant Vampire Squid" attached to my face Except rather than sucking as hard as it ta...
