As it does for me too. I would snort water if I could. In fact I guess I do that every time I use Simply Saline.
People hear "heated hose" and automatically assume that the air has to be sauna like warm and nothing is further from the truth.
Yes, it can be rather warm but it doesn't HAVE to be that warm and still get the job done and feel cool to the face.
And too cold to the nose or face will be a disruptive factor to sleep in general. If the face and/or nose is cold we simply don't sleep well. I had that happen to me with the PR S1 non heated hose machine set to max of 5 in that default mode. My nose hurt from the cold...but then in the winter my bedroom temps go to the low 50s. And that was with a hose cozy and barrel cozy being used to try to warm things up a bit. Just not enough for ideal comfort.
Having the heated hose available is a big plus...always better to have something and not need it than need it and not have it.
It opens up a whole new world in terms of incoming air temperature control along with independent humidity control.
I keep mine set to high humidity and low temp most of the time. But if I visit my sister or share a hotel room with her, I must raise the temp, or I will wake up later with loud gurgling in the hose. I am very glad I have the heated hose when I need that option. I also like being able to set the temp and humidity level individually, which is not available with the regular hose.
Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Welcome to the site
Retired after 20 years and going through the VA... it took me 2 years to get my first appointment with the sleep doctors, but once I finally got into them I have had 3 appoinments with them in 3 months, not bad at all... They have no idea what to do with my machine, they cant read the data because they only have older machines and therefore older encore...
Because I went to a local DME to get my machine, the VA has not paid the DME for almost 4 months now... We will see..

WELCOME SLEEPY
You have come to the right place & yes your story of wifey leading you down this path to improved health , be very thankful !
Be careful not to make adjustments to your machine other than what you were titrated & if you do , do not tell the powers that be. you will find their reactions less than humorous in most cases. ( CPAP Police )
Again Welcome Fellow Vet !
