Re: How to stop back Straps from "sliding up".... for Men?

Some headgear is available in a cap style... CapPap is one of them, and here is one I found online at cpap.com: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/softcap-headgear. You could also google CapPap or cap style cpap headgear to possibly find other styles. You might be able to create one yourself or have a...

Re: Downloaded sleepyhead last night, found out Im dying

Im a sick man, I did a download on sleepyhead. Its awful, awful...terrible, terrible. Says I have a real low AHI but the cheyennes stroke sydrome is flagged and I dont even know what cheyennes stroke syndrome is, but it sounds like something worse than plain old sleep apnea! I must be dying, becaus...

Re: Which mask liner?

I started with Pad-A-Cheek; I didn't like the feel of the fabric on my face, but otherwise they're great. I switched to RemZzzs, and I still use them now, but I've started making my own from old t-shirts based on the RemZzzs liner. I wash and reuse all of them; no point in discarding them until they...

Re: OT: Windows 10 becoming automatic download

My Win10 upgrade automatically installed... took a very long time, which I guess is expected for something that large. It was seamless; all of my software except one was compatible. As soon as that one software program is ready for Win10, I can install it online with my registration key at no charge...

Re: When are they going to find us a better solution?

I find the F10 to be a very comfortable mask, and I love that it doesn't have a forehead strap. Mask Liners will help with leaks, and strap covers will help with the marks on your face. Google "cpap mask liners" and then do "cpap strap covers" to find these. One brand of liners is RemZzzzs, and at h...

Re: What is your favorite full face mask with headgear and why?

Now using Quattro Air after trying several masks including Amara View (never could figure it out so leaks galore), originally used F10. I believe they came out with F10 so people could wear glasses while getting ready to sleep. The F10 cushion is identical to the Quattro Air cushion - only differen...

Re: is CPAP machine ok inside my checked bag?

I carry it on board, I've had luggage go missing for a day or two, and I've also had broken luggage. The rough handling checked luggage gets, I don't want to risk having something happen to it. It's a pain to lug it through the checkpoint, around the airport and onto the plane, but at least I know i...

It's the weekend; probably Carolyn will be back tomorrow. Yes, the thread needs to be locked or deleted, and I hope that behavior like this will end if we all report the offensive posts so that they will look into it before it continues. Pugsy, if you're reading this, I'm with all the others with pr...

Re: Any mail order cpap supply companies that accept insurance?

Will your insurance reimburse you if you order one and pay out of pocket? That's something to ask them as well. Mayo Clinic Rochester's CPAP store has a catalog you could order from and they would probably take your insurance once they have a copy of your RX that you could fax or mail to them ... I ...

Re: Ebay rules selling masks?

A full mask package cannot be sold without an RX, therefore eBay will not allow you sell the complete mask unit. You can sell individual mask parts, so break it up into cushion/frame/headgear for XXXmask ... in each listing, indicate the size, etc. and mention that you have other mask parts in separ...

Re: Kinks in New Slimline Hose

I haven't any experience with this, but it occurs to me that you could try soaking the hose in warm water to soften the kinks, then pull on them and see if they will loosen up a bit. Then hang it again in the manner you described for a couple days. I don't know if it will help, but it's probably wha...

Re: Dry mouth problems

I have only used FFMs, and had trouble with both leaks and dry mouth. For leaks, I use mask liners, which completely changed the game for me. My dry mouth has become less with time, but still happens occasionally. My solution was a large double-walled plastic mug with a cover and straw. I took out t...

Re: Medicare DME question

My insurance changed for the last two months of my rental period, but my DME did not. There was nothing I needed to sign, and my new insurance paid the last two months. I would think that since your DME partnered with another DME that you will not have to start the rental period over, as all of the ...

Re: New to this. . .

No, the machines do not know if you are asleep or awake, they know you're using the machine and that you are breathing... an auto machine (mine is PRS1 560) senses when you're using the machine, and will automatically turn on when it does so. my DME told me that practicing while awake helps to desen...

Re: New to forum...how bad is my sleep ?

Those numbers definitely indicate a need for cpap therapy.. after my sleep study and titration 2 years ago, my overall AHI was 52, with an average of 11. O2 was 90. With cpap therapy, my average is less than 4, often less than 1. Your AHI of 80, especially with your O2 level, is severe. You should d...
