I think if I remember right she told me the kitty nailed the heated hose the first or second day. She already had the duct tape on it and had already ordered another heated hose.
The short hose was the second attack on the hose.
Bad kitty.

Pugsy's right (as usual ) She got the ClimateLine the first week so I patched it and ordered a cover. Night before last she attacked the short hose, which will have a cover of its own shortly...

is your cat not getting enough tubing in her diet?

is she hose deficient?

do they offer kitty vitamins for that? perhaps you should check!!!

The most obvious answer is the simplest. Make sure cat and tubing are never in the same room.

(The exception being as mentioned above, if you have a one room studio apt and there is no means of keeping cat away from sleeping zone. Then a combo of putting away tubing during the day and keeping cat crated at night should do the trick. Unless your funds are limitless...)

Indeed! Having traveled with one or two in my lifetime, crating is not something I would subject either of us to for extended periods.

Having a friend make a lightweight cozy for the short hose this week, should resolve the issue.

Maine coons are basically cat tanks, it takes alot to phase them.

I bought an eight foot hose cover for under ten dollars online(Snugglehose I think). It covers everything and still allows the mask to detach for midnight strolls. one drop of eucalyptus oil or dotted around should discourage chewing,just don't get in your eyes.Scrunch the extra cover up toward the mask, thick and wrinkled polar fleece can't have a good mouth feel. I'll bet biting on the hose makes a sound like cellophane, irresistible to casts.
