How do I change pressure settings?

Post by fallbaby » Mon Sep 01, 2014 3:57 pm

I gave up trying to use my machine as prescribed. I was dozing off with it on but then would wake shortly after that with panic feeling like I was suffocating. My pressure is simply too high to start with even with a ramp up.
Insurance wasn't going to pay so I gave in and put the thing on my credit card. Can't afford it but not willing to totally give up yet.

The med supply wouldn't change my settings for me but said now that I owned it, I could do what I wanted.
Does anyone know how to set the pressure?
It's a REMstar Pro C-Flex+ from Phillips Respironics.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

With your machine plugged in,
Turn the knob until Setup is highlighted,
Then simultaneously press both the knob and the Ramp button and hold until it beeps.

That gets you into the Clinician menu.
Dial down to the pressure setting and press the knob.
That lets you change the pressure by turning the knob.
When you have the pressure you want, press the knob again.

Do the same thing for each setting you want to change.

When all done, dial until Back shows and press the knob again.
Dial to Therapy and you're done.

What was your sleep study AHI and recommended pressure? Lots of folks seem to find low pressures suffocating - my minimum on APAP is 10 so I don't get that...
