I just registered today and thought I would say hello.
I had my sleep study a few weeks ago and got my machine 2 days ago. I'm new to sleep apnea and still learning a lot. From what I've read and the people I've talked to it seems like I've actually been dealing with sleep apnea for at least 16 years. I don't know what information they give you from the sleep study - I don't see my sleep Dr. for another 8 weeks or so - but they told me over the phone that I stopped breathing 123 times an hour and my blood oxygen level dropped as low as 40%. When I did my sleep study I fell asleep around 9:45pm and they were waking me up at midnight to get me on a cpap machine for the rest of the night. I felt awesome the next day
They set me up on a bi-pap machine and a nasal pillow mask. I've had it two nights and LOVE it.
I look forward to learning more and getting to know some other people here --- AND many nights of real sleep!
New and saying hello - VERY severe sleep apnea

Those stats will definitely put you in the "VERY SEVERE" category.
Feel free to poke around and read. There's a Search function above which is very helpful. There really aren't many "new" subjects in this therapy, so there's lots of info in the old threads and posts. There's the yellow lightbulb icon above, too.

Re: New and saying hello - VERY severe sleep apnea
Hi,
I'm a couple of weeks into my treatment and have had very good success so far. They take real good care of us Newbies here especially if we attempt some research before we ask questions. In my opinion some of the topic headers aren't very descriptive of what is contained in the thread so if you have the time read what you can. It can be very enlightening.
Welcome,
d

Welcome to the forum. I hope your treatment continues to be successful.Mouserat wrote:I just registered today and thought I would say hello.
When you selected your equipment for registering, I think you picked out a series 50 machine which doesn't show anymore. The humidifier you show is a series 50 and, if your machine is a current one, it should be a series 60 humidifier.
You might want to revisit that process.
You definitely should get a copy of your sleep study for your own records. It will contain very helpful information in understanding what is going on.
The sleep lab can get you one if you request it (they may ask you to fill out a form). The same thing goes for your doctor's office. Just drop by and make the request.
