FRUSTRATED PEASE HELP

Post by Guest » Thu Aug 28, 2014 4:09 pm

I have been told I should have a follow-up appointment with the dr. until today i still had not none what the test said. I called my primary dr to set up a visit (the May one I had set was one i made in May for November for bloodwork) the nurse told me I was to have a consult with the pulmonary Dr. within 12 weeks. I called the Dr office and they pulled the report and it is only if the dr feels it is nessesary and they ordered the nasal pillow not the mask I received. What questions should I ask the Dr when I see them on the 4th. I was told I had 82 apnea periods and my oxygen went down to 70.

I have NO idea what you just wrote or are asking about. Would you like to try to reorganize your post and make it a little plainer?

Also, put a little more thought into your subject line.

Slow down and give us more info here.

I see you had a sleep test, did you also have a titration where you slept part of the night with a mask on?

Did you get a machine and mask already for home use?

If you did, how's it going? Are you sleeping all night, every night with the mask or machine?

If you are having trouble with the mask or machine you will need to tell us WHICH machine (make and model) and WHICH mask you have (make and model). Otherwise we will not have enough information to offer you any help.

If you don't know the make and model of your machine it should be written somewhere near the power button, otherwise you can REMOVE THE HUMIDIFIER and then turn the machine upside down to find the model number. If you don't know the name of your mask, at least tell us whether it's full face (covers nose and mouth) nasal (covers just the nose) or nasal pillows (fits against your nostrils). And the manufacturers name will be written somewhere on the mask.

sc0ttt,

Keep in mind that newly diagnosed folks with apnea might be experiencing cognitive difficulties that prevent them from writing the most coherent subject lines and posts. Just a thought.

You shouldn't have to wait so long! Also, you have the right to your records and have the option for a copy. If you are not getting a response you have the right to see another doctor but don't wait too long. You may want to call your insurance because they know what is too late to see a doctor that you may have to repeat the study. They in turn can call the doctor for you as to why they are taking so long to get back to you! 82 is high and 70s is low! A lots of people have this finding and do ok for years. But since you have the results it is a very good idea to have it treated because untreated can get worse. You have the right to not be manipulated with your own records just 'cause a physician says so. They don't own your rights. Find what the law says inn this matter and take action, specially if you or your insurance has already paid for it! You have the right for treatment. Good luck!
