Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset

Post by Tango » Thu Aug 28, 2014 9:08 pm

Has anyone heard if the resmed airsense 10 Autoset is worth trying.
I've had a few machines with varied success so I'm not new to the cpap. But my last one was a Phillips remstar auto A-flex.
My issues were always a clogged up nasal passage so I would go with the mask but get dry mouth.
But, all in all, when it worked well and I kept up with it I enjoyed sleeping with it. It does have its perks.....being able to sleep head under the covers, no sleep talking,
Anyway, I am curious what folks have to say About the resmed airsense 10autoset.
Thanks for your input. It's greatly appreciated
T

It's pretty much brand new. Released last week. Only know of 1 person on the forum so far who got one.

and the general discussion thread when it was released on the 18th.

Hi Tango,

I'm on day 5 with the new Airsense 10 autoset. I've never used a machine before (used a mouthguard only) so this is my first move into the CPAP world. I'm surprised how easy it is to sleep with it on, and how quiet. I always dreaded have a loud buzzing machine next to me, thought it would bother my husband more than the loud snoring The top of my nose is getting a little irritated by the rubber from the mask, and I'll probably put some soft material under it when I get my own machine. But, the machine is as quiet as a mouse, I don't have to set anything as it's all done by the doctor. It has something called a ramp which automatically alters to my breathing needs which sounds like a good thing, and apparently this is specifically set for the breathing patterns of a female as opposed to older machines that are set to male breathing patterns (don't know if that's just hype by the company or if there really is a difference between our breathing patterns based on gender!).

I've heard some people don't bother using the humidifier in the previous no.9 machine but this is built in to the no.10 so I don't know what it would be like without it. I haven't had a blocked nasal passages or a dry throat, and in 5 nights I've only had 1 'event' recorded (Yeah!). My husband says I'm not making a sound and I'm enjoying some good quality sleep for a change. As I said, I'm a novice at this so I can't compare, but at least I can say it's working for me and I will seriously consider this one when I come to buying my own (I'm on a 4 week trial), though I'd like to try the no. 9 version just as a comparison because it sounds very similar and I expect it would be cheaper

Cheers

Jo

My pretty new white machine is only four days old---and my fourth machine.
By far it is the most comfortable and quiet!
