I was diagnosed with sleep apnea while on active duty, so please don't flood me with emails asking how to get it related to service if you once served, because I don't know. I do know ways to cut through the red tape if diagnosed while in service active duty. It's actually easy only submit the diagnosis and the receipt for the machine anything else will delay.
My question is Does anyone know what is gonna happen VA wise down the line.
Is VA gonna order a retest at 10 years, check my records to ensure machine usage? Or are there any surprises that I need to know about that are coming.
Thank you for your information
Va sleep apnea
Re: Va sleep apnea
They will have you come in once a year for check ups. You bring your machine with you and they check your stats. Here in San Antonio they give you a phone number that you can call to place equipment orders.

Re: Va sleep apnea
It is important to know that each VA appears to do things slightly different.
So not knowing where you will land in 10yrs I can only say they will likely want to prove you are using the machine (compliance) but not likely to want to test you again unless you are having a problem.

Re: Va sleep apnea
I did not get my machine through Va got it through tricare.
I try never to go to VA for any treatment if possible save it for someone who needs it.
I've heard horror stories of them taking away benefits at ten years
