It varies; everybody does it differently. My DME told me to wash humidifier tank daily with a drop of mild dish soap in the tank, swish it in tap water, then let it air dry. I wipe the mask down daily with cpap mask wipes, and once a week I soak the hose, mask and tank in a solution of dish soap, vinegar and water for a couple hours - what you would ordinarily use for washing dishes, and a small amount of vinegar. By bedtime all is dry if I do it right after I get up. Sometimes I miss doing it for a day or two for one reason or another, but I don't obsess about it - I just carry on.

Some people will tell you they don't clean daily, but monthly or even less, or they have a different kind of regimen. Whatever you're comfortable with. You're the one using the equipment so you have to pick a cleaning method that works for you.

What equipment are you wanting to wash?

Cleaning routines and schedules vary among users. It's another one of those things that comes with a YMMV sticker.

When in doubt follow the instructions that came with your equipment.

Me? My personal cleaning routine.....
I don't wash my headgear very often. Maybe twice in last 8 months and that was only because I wanted it to shrink up a little.
I wash my nasal pillows maybe once a week. Been using the same nasal pillow since mid Jan of this year.
I wash the water chamber in the humidifier maybe once a month (most often longer)
I don't wash the long hose. It's a heated hose and I don't like messing with it in case I mess up the heating coils and it doesn't get anything in it to get it dirty anyway.

I use a mild hand soap when I wash my stuff because I like the aroma it offers. Baby shampoo or cleanser would also work.
Some people like to soak in a vinegar/water solution...but I hate, hate the smell of vinegar so I don't do that unless I am cleaning water deposits off the water chamber which I don't get unless I run out of distilled water.

When I first started therapy I had a much more rigid cleaning routine and schedule because I read where people thought it was needed but that got old real fast.

If I were to be using a full face mask without a liner...I would probably clean the mask cushion daily though because of the build up of skin oils can affect the leak.

If you are always using distilled water, you can ignore cleaning the hose and tank, just dump the tank everyday and refill.
I use Johnsons baby shampoo on my mask parts daily but that's because its an oral mask. Harsh detergents like Dawn are probably not good for the silicone parts of the mask although I haven't seen any direct evidence of that.

I use Dawn unscented, or baby shampoo - Dawn is about the only dish soap I can find that is unscented and has only ingredients that I trust for my cushions. If the store is out of Dawn I use baby shampoo.

I was told weekly for the tank with a water/vinegar solution but not to use anything but distilled water. I do dump it daily. The non replace filter with baby shampoos but was also worrying if weekly was too much

I was told to wash the humidifier tank and the mask cushion daily in dish soap and water and rinse well. Let air dy.

Once a week I take apart the mask and wash that in dish soap and rinse well along with the hose, the filter and humidifier tank. Let everything air dry. I hang the hose on a hanger for a while and then later I hook it up to the cpap and let it run for about 15 mins to further dry it and then hang it back on the hanger until bedtime.

I just use Palmolive dish soap.

I do my cleaning on my stuff first thing in the morning. This way everything is dry by bedtime.
