Hi, I'm new. I have to get a new cpap machine. What is the best one on the market today?

I have an RESMED Elite S9. I like the RESMED. They even have a newer machine, but I would ask others on this form about that machine. I don't know much about the Resmed Airfit Series. So does anyone else on this forum know about the Resmed Airfit Series? What ever you choose go with a unit that can tell your AHI as least, air flow loss. Just ask around there are so many people that will want to help. I know just a tiny bit. So someone will help out there, I am sure. Good luck on CPAP journey.

Welcome to the board!
Boy are you lucky! Many new CPAPers get screwed by their DME (CPAP salesman). You get a chance to avoid that.
Read the links in my signature line for hints on how to not get screwed and which machine to get.
If you have certain conditions, you may need a bilevel machine or even an ASV machine, which are much more expensive.
If you have normal apnea, I'd recommend:
ResMed S9 AutoSet, or Philips Respironics PRS1 Auto. There's a new ResMed AirSense 10 (A10) AutoSet or "AutoSet for her" that is probably as good as the other two listed here, but we don't have have lot of experience with them yet. These are "Auto" CPAP machines. The Auto machine is always the right choice because it can do either auto or manual.
The S9 Elite, PRS1 Pro, or A10 Elite are manual CPAP machines similar to the above machines. Not as good as an Auto, but perfectly acceptable.
Avoid the S9 Escape, the S9 Escape Auto, PRS1 Plus, PRS1 DS260, and the PRS1 SE models. They don't collect as much data as the good machines. I would avoid any manufacturers other than ResMed or Philips Respironics right now.

I prefer the Respironics machines because they work on 12V and the power cord is more reasonably priced than the 24V Resmed. If a power outage or camping is in your future consider how you will handle that.
