Why no swivel on the ResMed AirFit P10?

Post by mon » Fri Aug 22, 2014 2:54 am

I love the P10 but really wonder why it doesn't have a swivel attachment. Does anyone know why they didn't make it with a swivel. Perhaps that's a way they can make an upgrade in the future and they've left it so it can be made better in the future. I feel it is very much better to have the hose above my head. What do others think?

The swivel is at the other end of the short hose.
I use a hose hanger, and turn out any kinks manually.
A swivel at the mask would be nice, but not the impossible connection on the Swift FX.
--and certainly not the air blaster that goes with it!

the hose is so flexible, it doesn't need a swivel at the mask, it's actually a bit nice not having to futz with it to get it to swivel in the right direction

I pretty much agree with PR about the flexible hose. I really haven't missed the swivel and I am able to easily route the hose upwards because that's where I always lay my hose.
Long hose goes on the bed mattress up around the bed pillow and the short hose comes down to nose. I toss and turn a lot and the hose still comes down from the top. Always go to sleep on my left side which puts the machine to my back. After I go to sleep I am all over the place but the long hose stays on the mattress and mask hose comes downward to my nose.

A swivel would make it too bulky - part of the appeal of the P-10 is the minimized profile.
