My experience with SD cards is that sometimes they get screwy. Sometimes you can reform an SD card gone bad, but they tend to go screwy on you again later. They're usually cheap enough to just replace. In theory, you want an SD card, but SD cards are getting hard to find, but SDHC cards seem to work OK for most people.

Been looking for a regular SD Card here in the Philippines. Seems the only available cards are SDHC. But will go to an area that sells computer stuff at a discount this weekend to see if they have any there.

Coincidentally, I posted this in another discussion about SD cards;

My original Resmed SD card lasted about 14 months before it stopped working. I was getting all kinds of unformatted errors, strange data in sleepyhead showing major mask pressure errors, etc...

I replaced it with a PNY brand SD card and it died within months of using them. After a month, the S9 needed to reformat it after downloading data to Sleepyhead and Rescan.

FYI --I always put the SD card in lock mode during download and unlock it prior to installing it back into my S9.

Then just recently it wouldn't re-format in the S9 or my laptop.

I bought SANDISK brand SD cards and have not had any issues in several months.

my humble advice is to stay away from the bargain basement SD card

Dave

I was not able to purchase a 2GB SD Card but I found one that I have not been using so I cleared out any files from it and stuck it in my CPAP. Still not readable by EncoreBasic.
Erased all data from the card.
Oh dear, remembered I did not upload data from the card to SleepyHead. Oh well...
Let's see after a few days...

and the saga continues...

I agree SD cards have high failure rates. However, my experience doesn't convince me that high priced ones have lower failure rates.
