This is a photo of someone who used part of an old headgear as a strap. I have done the same with old headgear--I just found a section that is long enough to sew a loop in one end (to thread onto your current headgear) and has the Velcro fastener on the other (I usually use one of the the lower straps off my old headgear). You can either make one for each side of the lower straps and connect them to each other under the chin (can be shorter straps this way), or make one long one that can loop over the opposite strap and connect to itself.JQLewis wrote:I've also had the experience of waking up with the bottom of my mask in my mouth. Yes you can try the Full Life and there are a few other FFMs that have chin cups to prevent the mask from pulling up and out of position -- the older Fisher Paykel MMS like the Forma, and the Hans Rudolph V2 both secure under the chin. Ultimately, at least in my case, the more you use a FFM, even without a strap or whatnot to prevent mask movement, the better things get. You 'train' yourself to sleep with one, in the proper position, keeping your mouth closed, etc. This, for me at least, eventually helped with my experiences with FFMs shifting position and leaking, and 'jaw drop' leaks, etc. I have used the Full Life, the V2 and many other FFMs without chin cups, and now I can pretty much use any one without movement problem/leaks. Eventually, even without the 'training wheels' of a chin strap system, things get better. ....Or not. Just keep at it.
