I have been using just pass over humidity for several weeks now and the dry air is really great for stopping congestion during the night.
But recently I have woken up some days with a runny nose within a few minutes of taking off the mask, and I think our local humidity has been high in the early am.
Anyone else get this?
Still using a one nasal rinse and Veramyst corticosteroids once a day too.
Rebound congestion?

Re: Rebound congestion?
I had several occurrences of what you describe. Slept OK, but within a half hour or so up getting up the nose runs like a fountain, with sneezing fits, for about an hour. I suspect it was due to too much humidity, but not sure. I had been on max humidity with Classic mode due to dry mouth with FFM. But in going to the P10 I had to keep turning it down - now in System One mode with "2" setting. Will be wondering what adjustments will be needed this fall....

Re: Rebound congestion?
I think there might be an aspect of seasonal allergies in there... I have the same thing.

Re: Rebound congestion?
Been my scenario for years. Mine is usually about 20 minutes after getting up. I view it as a "good" thing as it helps clear out my sinuses and nasal passages.englandsf wrote:I have been using just pass over humidity for several weeks now and the dry air is really great for stopping congestion during the night.

I don't use any "medications" (nasal sprays or the like).

Re: Rebound congestion?
My nose has started running throughout the day after starting APAP with the humidity function on. I'm not quite sure what the mechanism is at this point.

Re: Rebound congestion?
Julie, I think there is an allergy component that the CPAP filters out, too.
It only lasts until I do my morning sinus rinse and steroid spray.
I too wonder what the winter and heat will do to my humidification strategy - Redonthehead.
