Resmed S9 Autoset -- Range or 1 Level?

Post by par4 » Wed Aug 20, 2014 12:29 pm

HELP---I'm trying to order a Resmed S9 Autoset for my 1st CPAP Machine --- but my DME is saying it needs to be preset to ONE Level -- per my Prescription.

I believe I can adjust that after I get the machine -- to be a true "Autoset" -- with a range.

Please confirm!
ALSO-- If I adjust from CPAP to APAP ... does that put me out of Compliance and ineligible for Insurance to pay the DME ??

The S9 AutoSet has 2 modes of operation.
CPAP mode which is a fixed single pressure
APAP mode which is an auto adjusting single pressure
So yes...the ability to change from the fixed pressure is there. It's easy.
Just make sure that it says AutoSet on the top of the blower unit. Don't let them try to sneak an Escape Auto by you.

The S9 Autoset has the ability to run in CPAP mode (single pressure) or APAP mode (range of pressures).

Insurance only cares about hours of use. You may want to ask your doctor for a prescription for a range of pressures to gain the DME's cooperation.
