OT- still alive and kickin'
Still on CPAP, using machines I bought (Precious and POW) from forum member Grayghost4. I also have been using my Swift FX masks until they NEED replacement. That takes awhile. Like...months. And months. Headgear is almost due though...almost 2 years in. Life is better when your sleep improves. That...

Ok...this is normal and it gets better. First time with anything new is awkward.

Re: Can I not ask a question?
... that is why we have "spam" buttons - and "spam" refers to not only sales pitches but random crap anyone posts that is not marked OT: and does not refer to sleep apnea. OK thanks. Since your comment pretty much fits that criteria, your post was deleted. Thanks again. Why does this board attract ...

Re: If Quattro didn't fit me, should I even try AirFit F10?
I tried the F10, but it seems to be made for a taller, narrower face than mine. The Quattro is a bit shorter and wider, from what I've noticed.

Re: Swift FX Takedown
Pillow, neoprene strap, small hose and silicone head strap (left and right sides, but leave that piece together)...and possibly the little, thin silky cheek piece covers, assuming you don't have padacheek pieces...or am I missing something?

Re: Can I not ask a question?
Thanks to the self-appointed Thought Police.......... there's a lot of stuff that people are deprived of seeing and judging for themselves. Yes we remove the crap of the forum that has nothing to do with sleep apnea so you don't have to worry your sleep deprived mind about it. Sleep deprivation - i...

Re: Nose is bleeding, any advice ?
Medical advice changes day to day...what was ok to do 5 years ago can now be almost taboo. *shrug* I don't make or follow the rules, just sayin'.
Higher humidity with heated hose would probably feel pretty good...Also,you might want to avoid white shirts and pillowcases til the nosebleeds are fixed.

Re: Sore throat from not using CPAP possible?
I would think if you use a humidifier on your machine, it might help avoid sore throat due to dry air...or maybe there is something being filtered from the air that bothers you?

Re: Can I not ask a question?
Viscous beast? Viscous ? Ya mean like snotty ? There's lots of that around here ! vis·cous /ˈviskəs/ adjective adjective: viscous having a thick, sticky consistency between solid and liquid; having a high viscosity. Maybe when cpapperson76 gets off the floor she will get out her dictionary. Wouldn'...

Re: Can I not ask a question?
Being as you're a brand spanking new member, consider that the forum members who have been here awhile have seen enough that they/we can have short fuses. And many times, new posters will post a question then leave, or post non CPAP related, then jump on the arse of s/he who takes offense...potentia...

Re: Bags under my eyes. Big one under right one.
I get swollen in the eye area sometimes since starting therapy. Not sure if it's pressure, humidity or what...it DOES seem to get worse if I sleep with my head lower than my feet...simple enough to do in my case, depending on the tilt of my truck when I park for the night. Most of the swelling is th...

Re: OK after 3 years, Back to CPAP
I haven't had the pillow in the ear (yet), but a year and a half in, I find that I still occasionally wake a bit to adjust the mask fit, then right back to sleep. My boyfriend noted that I had some loud leaks one night, but I didn't wake up, so I don't sweat it. If my AHI is above 2, I generally lik...

Re: Nasal mask, CPAP and high-ish pressures...
That's what I thought...I use the swift fx with upper pressure around 13.5, with about as much trouble as when it was at 6-7. She was FLOORED when I showed her my mask...and explained what my settings are.
