The Mask Museum

Post by Zeecat » Thu Jul 31, 2014 10:44 am

I envision a darkened room with small podiums lit up with spotlights...

What does one do with all of these slightly used or new masks and parts? I suppose the nasal masks without the hose could make cute little seed starter greenhouses.

I don't have room for the podiums. I just store them on a bookshelf.
From time to time I try an old friend. Sometimes they work better than a new aquaintance.
I came across one I did not even rember the other day. I am tempted to try it again for the first time.

Of course, donation would be a much better choice.
Sadly, most organizations that could do this, refuse to deal with used --anything.
They only want cash--wanna gue$$ why?
So I suppose it is up to us to help others; one-on-one--when we can.

there's 'the great pillow exchange' thread.

I personally don't mind using a 'used' mask part, as long as it's been cleaned properly, most masks have, down at the bottom of the instructions "multi patient reprocessing' instructions, such as from the piliaro q,
your f&p pilairo q nasal pillows mask is provided patient ready, to reuse between patients, please follow the instructions below or follow the guidelines on the following website: http://www.fphcare.com/en/osa/mask-resources.html
I won't retype the rest, since it's just a click away.

I figure if the reprocessing is good enough for the paranoid "ack, don't sue me" medical community, it's good enough for me if I get a used whatsit. the only bit on the pilario q that's listed as 'do not re-use' is the little filter diffuser that clips on the vent.

I hope you mean that you have cleaned it properly, and not depend on the donor.

I was thinking of getting my 1st successful mask bronzed... sort of like how they used to do with Baby shoes.
