Problem - Alarm constantly goes off

Post by Fuzz » Mon Jul 28, 2014 6:20 pm

New to site. First post.
I have a Phillips Respironics BiPap auto SV Advanced System One with humidifier. I have had it for over a year and things have been going OK. The last two nights the alarm sounds and light goes on. Last night it did this 7 times from 10:30 to 1:05. Longest it went without going off was just over one hour. The shortest was 8 minutes between alarms. I haven't changed anything. My mask fits well and I think it is not leaking. Filter is clean. Like mentioned before, just started without really any changes. Can someone give me some direction on what's going on? Help!

thanks, Fuzz

what's the display say when it happens?

also, there should be a 'e' folder on your sd card, if you want to pull that out and post the files on dropbox or somewhere, I can try and decode any .004 error files in that directory.

I honestly don't know. I just reach over and push the button to go back to normal. I will look tonight when it happens.
As far as reading the SD card. Do not have a clue how to do that. Can you tell me how? Sorry, I can't be more help with information.
Just trying to learn stuff and when I got the machine, they never explained anything other than how to turn it on and off.

thanks, Fuzz

Here's some previous threads on unwanted beeping at night, hope they help:

I never did get my PR AutoSV to stop occasionally beeping at night but I did get the sound to attenuate by about 90%... PM for the details. It's safe and easy to perform.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Do you have the user manual for your machine?
Look on page 14 for a description of the alarms that can happen.
The alarms have screen displays on the LCD screen that gives additional information.

Send a PM to pugsy asking for help in getting the software to read your SD card.
Do mention your computer type and operating system as this will affect which software is appropriate.

you don't need any software to copy the error files off the sd card.

and none of the normal software reads them. though jedimark could write up something as an addition to sleepyhead that would.

Here's a good and free hex editor:

http://download.cnet.com/HxD-Hex-Editor ... 91068.html

Just be careful not to allow them to install 'extra stuff' like free search engines and add-ons... just answer no or decline when presented with the options during install.
