FWIW--- that photo is not my pet fish....

with my higher pressures, it just seemed appropriate

I'm impressed by palerider's apology. somehow, I've never been so....FLUENT with my apologies. Mine sound more like a kid..."Fine, I'm sorry, now shut up."

I was actually thinking of the song, "Ghost Riders in the Sky" performed by the man in black. --a classic.

the Death in that book was like Pratchett's Death character... someone who comes along after people die, and sends their souls off to where they're headed. it's a job, someone's gotta do it, etc.

Would you mind asking PDc where my soul is headed? I mean... if I know in advance I can start to prepare. Never mind... I think I'm afraid to find out.
you're asking an awful lot on a monday (given that this is the typical monday energy level):

generally, I think it's kind of a 'cut you loose and see which way you drift sort of thing, though

palerider wrote:Julie, I apologize for hurting your feelings. I saw some picutres of a white cat that reminded me of the one in your avatar, I did not assume that it was your cat, just as I don't assume that robysue's butterfly is her pet butterfly, or pugsy's pet deer, or chunkyfrog's pet frog.

though, of course, a cat would be a more likely pet. I certainly did not know that was a dear departed pet.

I saw a series of pictures of a pretty white cat, both awake, and then amusingly, totally zonked out asleep, and posted them, referring to them as you.

this touched a nerve, and hurt you, and for that, I am entirely sorry, it was never my intent to hurt you.

I'm sorry I reminded you of your loss, and I'm sorry I hurt you.

sometimes I'm stupid.

when I'm lucky, I recognize it and try to do the right thing.

Palerider, you're a nice guy.

Is it all right if I quote your recent posting debacle in my upcoming book: "101 Uses for a Dead Thread"?

And is there any way for me to apologize preemptively for all the stupid things I'm likely to say/do on this forum in the months/years to come?

sure, why not if it helps someone to avoid stepping in it, too, so much the better.
