Looking for a durable full face mask

Post by yes1202 » Mon Jul 28, 2014 1:48 pm

Hello, I've been using the ResMed Ultra Mirage for about 8 years. I've found this mask to be poorly made for the way I sleep. Mainly, the elbow that connects to the mask and to the hose frequently break during sleep. I sleep on my stomach which puts too much pressure on the elbow causing it to break. I'm hoping there is someone out there that had a similar problem who has found a more durable mask for stomach sleeping. Any information would really be appreciated

Thank you,

Did a quick look on clap.com and every full face mask has a front facing elbow it seems. I am a side sleeper but I have face planted a few times with my P10 pillows and they have continued to function but leaked a bit more than usual. My Nuance pillows are more stable but the gel inserts don't wedge my nostrils open so well.

I use the UMFF and sleep on my stomach, but did something radical about how it's done... and what makes it work is that the CO2 vent's higher up on the mask than so many others so won't be bothered by bedding. I cut out a 4" deep, 3" wide and 1' long trench in my memory foam mattress (top end towards feet) and the mask fits in diagonally (or more so) and I don't get a sore neck. But I sleep alone, and have tweaked my sheets to accommodate the method, plus made a couple of trenches on either end of the mattress over time (I just swivel it on its platform when it's time). It's radical, but works for me. I also had problems with the part that connects to the mask, plus the above-nose feature, but haven't had any in ages now.

If you are comfortable with your mask why not just buy a couple extra swivels?
