I wish they had warned me in post-op that these levels might happen so
I would not have freaked out.
Who am I, anyway, an endocrinologist? Never heard of one that's GREEN!

Re: Weight loss to get rid of sleep apnea?
I got my Cpap machine Oct 30 2014. Since then, well Oct 15th is when I started my diet, I've lost 125 lbs through diet and exercise. My average pressure has increased as the pounds came off, not decreased. I'm going the wrong way to get off it lol. I didn't lose nearly that much weight, but I lost ...

What does the data show? What is your AHI? Are your events in clusters? How much time do you actually spend at your 95% range?

Re: Is this cheyne stokes breathing?
(finding the right mask is often the most difficult part of this whole thing). ^^^Truer words were never written. A couple of comments. There is not a 1:1 correspondence between snoring and OSA. Some snorers don't have OSA. Some people with OSA don't snore. Sorry, you can't use that to argue with t...

Re: Newbie just had my CPAP Titration done, need insight/advice!
You've received excellent advice/insights already but I want to add one additional point. You commented that you woke up because you weren't breathing a couple of times. It seems this was a point of concern for you. Remember, however, that you were undergoing a titration. It is very likely (you migh...

Here's my anecdata:
I have pretty severe OSA (untreated AHI over 70) and probably had it for quite a while, but it was--and is--all obstructive. Very few centrals, generally when falling asleep.
Take it for what you will.

Re: OT:Defective frog
Thank you for all your well wishes. I'll go in knowing I have company here. Remember, knowledge is power. Any medical test or dental work postponed is an invitation for Nature to do her worst. She notices that stuff, and will smack you hard if you don't watch her! {{end of spontaneous frog sermon}}...

Once the mask is dry, you could also try sealing it during the day in a large ziplock bag with a bunch of baking soda.

We really have a very confusing health care system in this country.
