Re: Deep cleaning the S9

When you see stories like the kids play toys from the bath having mold in then it just makes you wonder if anything could happen to you cpap over a long time. Thanks I had occasion to open up a s9 autoset today that had about 6500 hours on it, not quite three years of use... here's what the inside ...

Re: Power Outage

A couple of years ago, our power went out at least twice in one month. Both times in the middle of the night. I can tell you that I for one woke up IMMEDIATELY and ABRUPTLY each time. It irritated me so much that not only put my CPAP on a UPS, I modified my UPS for extended run time. I removed the m...

Re: N20 headgear sizing?

My understanding is that the headgear is one size; only the mask changes. I too am currently using a N20. I tried on a MED and a Large at my DME. Both sets of headgear were the same. And I currently have the all 4 ends of the strap extended all the way which remarkably fits by head perfectly. If the...

For Sale - Resmed S9 parts in Fort Worth, Texas

I have a Resmed S9 Auto that the blower bearings went out on. (just over 2 years old). Anyway, I just got a new Dreamstation (love it!) I have the following that I'd like to sell to someone who needs it. S9 DC power supply (Plug into a 12V outlet) - used a few times ( https://www.cpap.com/productpag...

Re: Dreamstation Backlight Settings?

I wanted to followup on this post. I recently purchased a new Dreamstation. The LCD screen backlight was BRIGHT!!! Whenever you interact with any buttons, the screen came on at full brightness for approximately 60 seconds. So if you push the power button to turn it on / off, the screen came on. You ...

Re: What is the best thing for mouth breathing when using Nasal

First, I will admit that I am currently fighting mouth breathing myself. I've tried numerous full face / hybrid masks, but I have yet to find one that seals around my mouth properly without tightening the straps so tight that I fear permanent damage. I currently use the following chin strap: ResMed ...

Re: The Modem Thingy on your CPAP machine

I recently picked up an S9, and got a modem as well. My DME set me up with access to U-Sleep. A web service that the data is sent to. It has more than just compliance info, it also has AHI, leak data, and other info. Pretty much all of the summary data for each night. (no detailed waveform info, how...

Re: Teeth grinding?

You could always try the TapPap. Nasal pillows and a mouth guard in one. I also greeting my teeth. So far I've got only about a week on the tap pap, but I like it.

Re: U-Sleep

I can get most of that summary info on my AutoSet's sleep report screen. It shows last night, and averages for 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, etc. Right, this basically shows the same summary data that could be displayed on the sleep report screen. Not saying this is the only / best display of data, but...

He's also very big on pulling the little filter out of the back with his teeth and using it as a toy. Fortunately he hasn't torn it, and fortunately I was able to find it! HAHAHA! Gotta love those cats. Thankfully, NO, my cats never sat on the machine or pulled the filter out. BUT I do understand t...

Re: U-Sleep

I received my modem last week. After getting a continuous "0 - No Signal" on the display, the DME swapped the modem for a new one. The second one also said "0 - No Signal" for SEVERAL hours, and then apparently locked into a signal. Not sure, I didn't expect it to take several hours, and perhaps the...

Re: lower AHI's on weekends?

Does anyone else have lower AHI's on weekends? Same set up used everyday. The only difference I can think of is wine! I'm at 7-11 during the week and approx. 5 on weekends. One possibility, you still have the same concentration of apneas and hypopneas, but you have a longer time where you're not sl...

Re: SD Card for ResMed S9

I suspect the on the cards that still write even with the lock switch in locked position that the card is defective. The lock switch is a sliding electrical contact that should either make (write enable) or open (write disable) the circuit on the card that allows writing to the card. If that switch...

Re: Congestion Near End of Night

I suffer from allergy's big time I get sinus infections alot. So trying to dial in the humidity and understand it is going to be key for me. Normally around Oct or Nov is when things get back for me. And I will most likely have to switch to a full face mask since I will switch to a mouth breather a...
