Post by halb » Thu Jul 24, 2014 7:20 pm

The power went out and when it came back on it gave me a error message invalid SD card . It asked to delete all data and if you check no it still says invalid SD card . I assume that I need to reformat the card. Can someone give me advice. I have res can software

The power outage occurred at precisely the time the machine was writing to the card. When that happened, some crucial piece of data was damaged. Then, when the machine came back on, the firmware prigram noticed the damage and wants to fix it.

Say yes and you'll be good to go. There will be some data loss but mostly things will be OK.
Pugsy and others who are more familiar with Resmed data will be able to explain exactly what happens when a ResNed card is reformatted.

I left the card out one damn night and lost that data set. Annoying there is no memory on board to store it.

all of the good data is written to the card directly, the compliance data and stats are stored in the machine.

if you have to reformat, you'll end up losing whatever was on the card at the time, but not any compliance data.

but, if you don't let the machine reformat, then it won't use the card, and you won't get any new data on it...

best thing is to download the data frequently into sleepyhead, which will archive it for you.

Good advice, I had heard the machine stored one night's detail - and I had heard wrong.

check page 25 of the escape/escape auto/elite/autoset clinicians manuals for the data recorded, and where stored, and for how long.

I've pasted it into other msgs on here before, but it doesn't paste well, and it's a pain to format

Unplug the machine, and count to ten before plugging it back in.
You may still have to clear the card, but stuff happens--this could be a one-off.
