Re: Those who make your own mask liners
I found it! It's a pdf." DreamDiver's & KatieW's DIY Full Face Cotton Mask Liner. " Gonna give it a try tomorrow. Too late to mess with it tonight, lol. I have tons of old t-shirts and also have some super soft bamboo-cotton blend interlock that might feel nice against my face. Thanks for telling u...

Re: My fight with aerophagia (air swallowing).
So far pressure 6 and EPR 2 seems to be working. Minimal aerophagia. Does not bother me. I guess there is a sharp cut off pressure of N, where 6 <= N <= 6.6, where aerophagia begins. (6.6 gave me the same bloating and pain as pressure 7) I wonder if I should try pressure 6.2 and 6.4 (machine moves i...

Re: My fight with aerophagia (air swallowing).
This happens to me every night! At 2:30am, I feel great. At 5am, I'm exhausted. Yep, same here. I did an experiment once: woke up at 5.30 am feeling wide awake and energetic. So I started my day at 5.30 am. It was horrible lol. Was high for a few hours but starting at around 8.30-9 am, began to lac...

Re: How long does it take...
As your body gets used to the changes, highs and lows are normal. Yeah I am experiencing a lot of highs and lows. Sometimes the lows occur when my data looks good: mask on for 8 hours, 3< AHI < 3.5. Sometimes the highs occur when my data is quite crap: mask on for 5 hours, disrupted sleep due to bl...

Re: How long will it be?
I have obstructive sleep apnea (AHI 13) and felt better immediately. I remember how shocked I was feeling awake for the first time in my life (had apnea since childhood), right after the titration study. However, I wasn't (and still isn't) fully recovered right away. The improvements were incrementa...

Re: My fight with aerophagia (air swallowing).
Back to pressure 6 and EPR 2. Slept much better. 8.3 hours with mask on continuously. Still woke up in the morning with a bit of stomach bloating and gas, but definitely tolerable. Posters on this thread were right: its better to tolerate a slightly higher AHI in order to sleep comfortably through t...

Re: forced to use CPAP machine
Of course i did not sleep and the result was that i had a severe sleep apnea with AHI 34. The AHI produced by an in-lab sleep study is almost certainly not related to sleep quality/quantity. Even if you did sleep and had full comfort, your AHI is likely to be severe and at around 34. Do you not fee...

Re: Selling ResMed S9 Elite W/ H5i Heated humidifier
Never heard of such a thing. Untreated apnea is a common cause of depression, not the other way around. Yeah, my depression went away after 2 weeks of CPAP. That being said, if this is true, it is one hell of a misdiagnosis. People don't usually receive a top end CPAP machine for "couldn't sleep". ...

Re: How many pillows do you use?
Does your mask leak? Are your AHIs Ok? Leakage always seems to be the biggest issue with pillows/head position. My leaks are 1.20 median and 1.20-2.40 95% almost all the time. AHI used to be great at 1+, but the due to aerophagia, I had to lower the pressure and now its < 3.8. Its pretty good. I am...

How many pillows do you use?
I have been sleeping on two firm pillows. This site says one relatively flat keeps the airway most open: http://sleepbetter.org/ask-dr-lisa-how- ... uld-i-use/

you'll have to unlock it in the clinician menu then.[/quote]palerider wrote: My Res Med does not allow EPR settings on the user menu either.
I just go to the clinician menu whenever I need to change stuff. Don't want my clinic and DME to freak out if they find out I modified the user's menu.

Re: My fight with aerophagia (air swallowing).
Tried pressure 7 and EPR 3 again last night. Woke up after 5 hours with a huge bloated stomach. Took Gas X, which made it even more bloated and painful. Never taking Gas X again. However, the AHI is GREAT at pressure 7 (AHI = 1.19). Unfortunately, I only managed 6 hrs 43 min of sleep with the mask o...
