Re: The elderly have thin skin

If you were my dad, I'd insist you try a nasal pillow mask like the Airfit P10 first. Much less contact with skin than a FFM. If you can't use it then try the FFM later.

Re: Let's talk beds

I spend a lot of weekends at a hunting cabin and use an OLD steel frame bed with a soft worn out mattress. I consistently have half the AHI on that bed over my "better" bed at home. Not sure if it the bed, the fact I keep the room in the mid to low 60's temp-wise, or because I am alone (without the ...

Re: Unconventional cpap compliance problem

I use a "pillow" CPAP device that fits into my nose and gives me enough room to suck my thumb comfortably while using the machine. I think the pressure generated by the machine should allow sufficient breathing through your nose as I, too, have narrow nasal passages but am able to suck my thumb thr...

Re: Has anyone here had a repeat turbinate reduction?

I have. When they pulled the splints out after the first I knew it was a failure. About 6 years later I admitted I had OSA and got a APAP machine, and struggled with a FFM. The P10 was OK part of time. Finally found a better doc and got the turbs done again. He stated my bones(?) inside the turbinat...

Re: New machine after 7 years, or when it's broken?

My company insurance changed from Cigna to Anthem this year. Of course Anthem has no idea I am using CPAP. I called to see if they had a SA/CPAP dept and the rep said as long as I have a prescription to go for it. I have the funny feeling she was not up on Anthem's policies.

Re: How much did septoplasty help CPAP therapy

I struggled with a FFM early in CPAP use, mainly due to leaks at bridge at nose blowing in my eye. I bought a P10 out of pocket and found if I put it on while reading before trying to go to sleep, it would eventually open up my nasal passages where I could breathe OK. After my septoplasty and turnbi...

Re: Fitting the AirFit P10 pillows

I'd sure like to see Resmed come up with an intermediate pillow between the medium and large for the P10. Or perhaps snap on interface for the p10 that is more like the Dreamwear.

Re: Goodbye, AirFit P10. Call me when you're improved....

My latest new P10 mask came with a couple of small clips to take up a length of excess strap. You have to look under the instruction manual to find them. However they don't hold tight enough and the loop slips right back out. When my strap gets loose I merely pinch a small loop and tie it with denta...

I complained to Apria of the inhalation noise of my PR560. They replaced it. MUCH better with this one.

This. Prior to CPAP my wife kept earplugs on the nightstand. On really bad nights she would head to the other bedroom. Not any more. Sometimes my P10 will whistle a bit, but it doesn't bother her - so she says.

Don't pay ANYTHING until you get the EOB for that claim from the insurance.

Re: Help! Supplier inflates bills. $1950 for $868 CPAP machine?!

Have you received a EOB - Explanation of Benefits - from your insurance? Its relatively common for health providers to submit a "retail" price to insurance, who then knocks it down substantially due to a contract rate.

Re: Cigna Coverage for CPAP.com

i have submitted a claim for a P10 mask directly to Cigna without going through Carecentrix. I meticulously filled out the proper forms including the one CPAP.com will assist with (has their coding etc). It was covered, although in the out-of-network side.
