Software for s9 Autoset

Post by TROOP3 » Wed Jul 23, 2014 12:24 pm

Hello everyone! I would like a recommendation on which software I should use. I have heard a lot of different info on Sleepyhead and Rescan. Which software is the best? Where can i download the software. Thank you very much!

They are both good (I have been using both) I have found however that I am tending towards Sleepyhead even though it is not the official Resmed software.

Sleepyhead
Information page
http://sleepyhead.sourceforge.net/wiki/ ... =Main_Page

Download page
http://sleepfiles.com/SH

For the Resmed software do a search on the forum and you will find posts from people with instructions on how to download it.

I rely on ResScan only to check my treatment. I stopped looking at SleepyHead b/c it seems to me that its author (who happened to be quite weak even in basic Statistics) goes into providing diagnosis of medical conditions, based on the data, as though the home CPAP could actually replace the equipment in sleep labs. ResScan does not do it.

Your version of SleepyHead must have been doing a lot more than my version. I never saw any diagnosing by the software.
What I do/did see is a lot of people trying to diagnose on their own from data they see but since the data they see with Sleepyhead is pretty much the same as what ResScan shows...they would most likely come to the same conclusion if looking at the data on ResScan.

From SleepyHead....though if someone had some common sense I fail to see how person would even need to read this.

Troop3, sorry you got an answer from avi, one of our resident trolls. He does have some good info from time to time, but most of us have learned to ignore him much of the time. For some reason he's got a burr under his saddle about SleepyHead.

SleepyHead displays the data generated by the CPAP machine.

ResScan is the official manufacturer's software that does the same thing.

SleepyHead is still being debugged, but has more powerful features and makes it easier to display and use the data in several ways.

There's no reason not to get both. For me, SleepyHead makes it so much simpler to find what I want to find and spot events. If I have any problem or am suspicious of the SleepyHead data I can read the data with ResScan to double check.

If you install ResScan, do not install the device drivers when it asks you if you want to. It usually works fine without them and many people have reported the drivers screw up the SD card readers once you install them.

you've done a good job of convincing me that you know nothing, other than how to post irrelevant dreck in order to get attention.

perhaps you're not capable of handling words... but whether or not someone posts their own charts means nothing, at least not to anybody except you.

I have both ResScan and SleepyHead. I installed ResScan first, but I liked the screen shots that I saw others post, which came from SleepyHead. So I installed that, too. I MUCH prefer SleepyHead. I'm glad to still have ResScan if I ever need it, but my personal preference in layout and display of data, etc, is SleepyHead.

I started with ResScan, then used both for a while, and ended up gravitating to Sleepyhead. The same data is presented, and Sleepyhead is easier to navigate around in, so it's easier for me to take a quick look there. I like the tools in Sleepyhead better for zeroing on particular areas of interest as well.

I haven't attacked you personally, though you probably can't comprehend that, and if i were to refer to your posts in german, I'd use the term Scheiße to be more accurate.

so, about that foing... back to it!

I have tried both and found Sleepyhead to be more user-friendly and readable by far.
