Masks

Post by Barbara H » Wed Jul 23, 2014 2:19 pm

I have only been on CPAP for less that 2 months and oh, the mask issues!

My FF mask is one that goes from under my chin to over my nose.

This style I think should work great for me as I wear dentures during the day but not to bed at night. This has been quite the adventure because my original mask was fit with my dentures in. It never dawned on me that it would matter. Honestly, it never occurred to me until after the first night.

I have discovered that many ff masks won't work because of where they land on the chin just is not the same without my dentures. Many nasal masks also need to land where typically the front teeth are.

I am currently using the F&P FlexFit HC431. Overall I think it works ok. I can go days when I sleep well for almost 7 hours! This is a miracle in my world!! The problem is that it is not every night, its more hit and miss. I have now had a couple of restless nights that I seem to have more mask air leaks, etc. I am wondering if going to a mask with a bit more structure to it in the same style may help.

I know F&P also make the HC432 & Forma full face masks that also go under the chin to over the nose. Any opinions on these?

Is there a rally good place to see what other makers have in that style?

Does anyone have any suggestions for masks of this or maybe even a different style given that I do not wear my dentures to bed?

Thank you in advance for any help!
This forum has been a real blessing for me during this journey to getting a full restful nights sleep!!! You all are fantastic!!

You asked..."Is there a rally good place to see what other makers have in that style?"
If you go to cpap.com you can see all the masks available along with comments from users.
