I was offered a price well above what I thot I could get. I posted what RESMED told was the Manufactures SUGGESTED Retail Price. I did not ever say, I was selling it for that.. I did nto think I could get that much

Its very common to be hit with all sorts of great offers. I can say from experience with 200 % certainty you will never see those people. 9/10 offers are from people that do not understand that there are other models than the S9 AutoSet.

You can put S9 ESCAPE in capital letters and I KNOW from plenty of experience that you will get emails from people that see what they want to see, which is just the S9.........they will invariably always send you an email immediately promising you the world.
Rarely will you hear back from them.
If you do it will only be to apologize because they thought it was a different machine.
Betweem the time they exciedtly send you off an email offering you your dream amount of cash and 2 hours later, they will have invariably been clued in by their partner or friends online they are speaking to that your machine IS THE BRICK and not the S9 Auto they thought it was

You will get LEGITIMATE buyers with offers of $200 no more....that might change a teeny weeny bit here and there depending on location but not much.

Anyone can get offers promising the world. Only the right priced ad will actually sell.

I have a new one here that won't be used but i wouldn't sell it for $200. Id keep it for parts or if i broke down one night, etc.
I sell online, electronics. I know what i am talking about and am not just throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks....................you will never sell it for much money.
Sorry, simple as that.

And the last poster looking for it will be a lowball offer BUT thats all you can get with these

ROFL, cpap news is fairly hot on miscellaneous urban pages, financial pages. So they think that an 8 year old brick WITH an old FPK flexifit 432 thats 7 years old really is a "complete system" and they are really sacrificing it to give it away for 450.

Denial.
ShelaghDB wrote:I am forever amazed at the prices people think they can get selling privately online.

I just paid $650 for a brand new S9 AutoSet that came with everything, bag, climate controlled hose SD Card, etc, etc PLUS a brand new unopened Whisp FX nasal mask ( or something similar to that name)

Yet I am just now looking on the same s its I found this here in Toronto a forum called Kijiji which is like a Craigslist here in Toronto.

I see one person try8ing to sell an S9 Escape for $1000
On person trying to sell a slightly used S9 Autoset for $1200
and numerous sellers pricing their S9 Autosets and/or Elites at $900 and $800

I sell online daily for electronics and am used to the countless lowballs that send you emails offering you a pittance for a product so I am not intimidated as many first time sellers are and sell way under what the object is worth but I sold my S9 ESCAPE for ONLY $200 with about a weeks timing on it.
No way was anyone going to pay $500 for the ESCAPE......

Boggles the mind the prices people think they are worth.
The sad part of it is they probably cost about $20 per item to have built.

I look upon these people as no different than those who charge exorbitant amounts of money for quack cancer cures although in this case the cure is legit but people are still trying to sell life saving devices for far more money than most can afforo than those in the know selling them for reasonable prices.

Well, if I were a prospective purchaser (which I am not) I'd want a photo of the display showing machine hours. But that's just me.

I have pages worth of articles that I must reupload every day, on Craigslist, Kiijij and RedFlagDeal forums, all Canadian pages to sell on, aside from Amazon, which I am considering and have been for some time but I refuse to let people pay me my PayPal and most its face to face but of the ones I ship, I get people to pay me first by email transfer and thats only doable because i have a great reputation online and can prove it to the news ones unfamiliar, as having the best prices, being very fair, and a breeze to deal with and someone that will go out of their way to help the person obtain it, even if I have to deliver it to their workplace.

I say that to show that I do know what i am talking about when it comes to buying and then selling electronics online BUT AS I AM NEW TO CPAP, I have to admit I am not easily shocked but the prices I see people trying to sell these for even shocked me, the un-shockable

I believe you hit it dead on with the DENIAL explanation.

I think anyone buying online, from a thread such as this one, is just asking to be ripped off on the other end...............

Id want a hell of a lot more than just those photos

Respironics Legacy Series BIPAP ST w/ Heated Humidifier - Model: 1014248 (mint condition, 8.7 hrs of use)
-power supply
-card
-carry bag
-tube
-extra filter
-three extra flapper valves with funnel and cover kit
-blue Philips Comfortgel nasal mask with headgear
-Instruction manuals to the bipap, the humidifier, and the mask

Everything is in such excellent condition that you can't even tell it has ever been used... well because it has only been used for a little over 8 hours

I was diagnosed with Central Sleep Apnea. The second sleep study I did was done with a cpap and a bipap at different settings. I was told that a bipap slightly reduced the amount of apneas. Therefore I was sent the aforementioned machine from Respironics. When I got it I set it up and tried it when I went to bed. Every time the ramp feature expired I woke up and had to restart the ramp. I finally gave up in the middle of the night and turned it off. I tried to use it again the next night with the exact same outcome. In my first sleep study I have over 260 apneas! The bipap only reduced the number of apneas to the 240's. It just wasn't worth all of the discomfort of the machine for an unnoticeable amount of relief. So the next morning it went back into the box and into the closet.

I know that I am never going to use the machine again, plus I am currently dealing with financial issues related to another medical condition (kidneys). http://www.secondwindcpap.com has offered me $375 for every thing. Due to my financial issues I am trying to get the best deal I can so I figured I would see if anyone here might be interested.

I have pictures of everything including the hours and the model number, but I can't figure out how to post them for the life of me. So if anyone is interested then please let me know and I guess I can email you the pics.

Yay for thread necromancy.

I don't think you are going to get a better offer from anyone here, seeing as it's a pretty old unit and most users don't need an S/T unit. Secondwind is a trustworthy buyer though.

I'd keep it for yourself and use it, to be perfectly honest. 260 events over 8 hours (i'm assuming at best 8 hours, it's worse if shorter) is severe. You may find that your other health problems are related to the untreated apneas. There are links to a range of conditions ranging from memory loss, to heart conditions, to liver function. If you've only put 8.7 hours on the machine then you hardly gave it a try at all, no wonder you didn't' see any relief. If you really stick with the therapy and keep your doctor in the loop, your AHI really can be under 5.

Honestly i'd say give it another shot. The people here will help you in whatever way possible. $375 is a pittance in comparison to what it will cost in medical expenses later in life due to latent complications of untreated SA.
