Re: A paranoid fantasy???
This definitely not intended to in anyway be a political statement, and I don't want this thread to head off in that direction, but I'm much more concerned about corporate spying/control than I am about government spying/control. Phil My question for the group: How far-fetched does this scenario see...

Re: A paranoid fantasy???
Jay, So much for the "fantasy", it's now real. Jeez.... Phil My question for the group: How far-fetched does this scenario seem to you? Sounds like you're describing this: http://www.resmed.com/epn/products/easycare_online/easycare-online-wireless.html?nc=dealers&sec=true Daily, automatic data trans...

Re: A paranoid fantasy???
Robysue Boy that's an annoying possibility. But I think that you are really on to something here (and you should turn your fantasies in a different less frightening direction). The problem is not that I care that anyone else knows my data (that's another different scary issue), but that getting coop...

Re: Mouth Breathing?
I don't know if this is interesting or not, but although I definitely didn't like the Full Face Mask when this therapy all started awhile back, I found that it is now not nearly as problematic as I originally remember. There have been a couple of changes since then in that I only change sides maybe ...

Re: Mouth Breathing?
CoastalSun, I found that sometimes the tape was not quite long enough, and air would be able to escape through the tiny gaps at the end of the tape. One night I woke up to a little whistling noise coming out of both ends of the tape. It was kind of cool. I thought about waking up my wife so she coul...

Re: Mouth Breathing?
You know on some level this issue is a little troubling. I've been messing around with all this for maybe 16 months, and as most know, there's been lots of chatter online about "mouth Breathing" and dry mouth. Also, more than a few chatterers have suggested that Respiratory Therapists and maybe even...

Re: Mouth Breathing?
Ok, here's the plan(and it doesn't include pacifiers): The timing sucks (Early AM we head to hospital for wife's hip job/replacement), but tonight I'm going to go back to full face mask and see how that goes. I'm still unclear as to why nasal air won't open the back of my throat in a FFM just as it ...

Re: Mouth Breathing?
pugsy,
Do you think lowering either the IPAP or PR would make a difference? Currently they are at 9.5 and 4.0 respectively.
And how do you abswer so damn fast?
Phil

Re: Mouth Breathing?
Pugsy, I've been horsing around with this mouth breathing issue for quite awhile, and except for the taping routine, I can't seem to find any success. In fact, it seems to me that maybe there is no solution here that includes a nasal mask. After all, there is constant air pressure coming through the...

Re: Mouth Breathing?
Thanks for the input. I've looked at the leak graphs on Sleepyhead, but quite frankly I don't know what I'm looking at. I've also read your tutorial, but I'm still a bit confused. My AHI is pretty much <1.0, and over the last two weeks my leak graphs have been under 20 on the bottom line and <50 on ...

Mouth Breathing?
I just searched for the subject of "mouth Breathing" and got 14,400 references. Reading all of those will not be part of what I want to do for the rest of the day. Here's my question: is there not a distinction between "Mouth Breathing" and "Exhaling through the Mouth"? No inhale, just exhale. The p...

Re: Battery Pack for Respironics System One
I had previously noticed that another forum thread (maybe on a different forum) warned about the potential of death from missing a day or so of therapy. That post seemed somewhat extreme to me, but as mentioned earlier, we all have different issues and different degrees of problems. Last week in a m...

Re: Dry mouth
Interestingly enough I have found that by reducing my humidity from 4 down to 1 reduces my dry mouth. I still have a problem with keeping my mouth closed, but dry mouth is lessened in any case. Obviously counter intuitive.

Re: Preparing for Kaiser Follow-Up Visit
Marc, As I previously indicated, I too have a Doc appointment coming up soon at the Sacramento Kaiser, and as you likely know, when you contact a Kaiser Doc, their name pops up on your "email my doctor" list. Even a phone appointment does that. My current plan is to email the Doc in a day or so, and...

Re: Battery Pack for Respironics System One
We too have a long trip ahead of us (SFO-FCO) . Probably 14 or so hours, but rather than buy a one time usage battery pack (I guess it's a 2 time usage assuming we're coming back), I'll just rough it. Don't forget, you also have to have a charging device, for both the US and your destination, so the...
