I think stretching is a good thing. I would just add that considering the time spent solely stretching you could also be exercising, especially getting your cardio rate kicked up a notch. For example: try swimming (perhaps the greatest stretching cardio exercise there is). Also there's cycling, stationary or on a real bike. Being hunched over the handlebars and constantly adjusting your body weight is more exercise for the upper body than you'd think. Consider other forms of exercise like brisk walking with wrist weights (you can rotate your torso and lift your arms while walking). My wife likes doing water aerobics and that can be pretty invigorating, especially considering the water's resistance. My older son likes floor calisthenics because you don't need any equipment (he does it to punk rock music, but that is not really a requirement ). I think you get the picture. I don't know your physical condition or age since you haven't shared any of your personal info with the forum (so far), therefore I can't really suggest an exercise plan that might work for you, but I'm sure your doctor or sleep therapist can get you pointed in the right direction. If you're already as fit and tight as a snare drum then don't bother with what I just wrote

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Stretching is good preparation before any physical activity--also good for cool-down afterwards.
Alone, still good, but the "hard part" is really the most important.

I think that I've gotten more injuries stretching than any other way. Read a while ago that the best prep for an activity is to do that activity (or a reasonable facsimile) slowly, to warm up for it. That stretching is really injury-prone, which must be true since it agrees with my experience *smile*.

On the other hand, if you can do it gently, and it feels good, go for it *smile*.

Stretching should always be done slow and easy.
If you do it rough, you will hurt something.

not pre exercise stretching but wake up in the morning involuntary stretching, were your suddenly find yourself in med stretch before knowing your going to stretch sort of thing. I find I am doing that during the day as well as morning.
just all of a sudden want to stretch, in the morning it is more of a surprise when it happens during the day it is more of a strong urge but your body is getting in it with or with out you sort of thing.
just wondered if others found themselves just suddenly stretching for no real reason other then body wanting to do it.

Sorry, my only involuntarily motions are sneezes, toots, and shaky hands when my "flesh is weak".

Oh, if you're talking about that, yes, I find that I sleep in one position longer using cpap, which leads to me to wanting to stretch. Which I don't do until I've moved around some so that nothing gets torqued *smile*.

I raised some sheep a few years ago. Newborn lambs seem to get sick very rapidly sometimes. I asked an old timer who had raised a lot of sheep, how he was able to see if they were healthy or not. He said to watch them as they get up after sleeping or a nap. He said if they stretched, they were more than likely healthy. I found this to be true and to be true about every kind of animal including human's.

that is so so cool!
wow, thanks for sharing that, it is good to know and make seance as well. I do feel better and healthier so stretching should be pointing to a healthier me. so cool, I know makes me sound way younger then I am.
