Should this machine turn on automatically when I put it on my face? MY s9 auto for her does that and it shuts off when I remove it. I was told the new machine does not have that function. Is this true?
Where do I put In the type of mask?
Anyone have the clinician's manual for this vpap auto bilevel?
I did not know it would be so different from the S9 for her that I currently use.

Re: resmed vpap auto bilevel
That feature for auto on and auto off is indeed available on the S9 VPAP Auto. It's called SmartStart.
Available in the clinical setup menu...that's where you also select mask type.
To get into clinical manual see this...it's generic and works with all model S9s.

Sometimes SmartStart doesn't work so great with nasal pillow masks and low pressures (like 7 or lower) and when that happens we have to manually turn it on or off.
You can request the provider/clinical manual for the S9 VPAP Auto here

I think it is a combo manual for the S9 VPAP S too.
It really isn't all that different from the S9 AutoSet..couple of minor setting adjustments that the AutoSet doesn't have and the ability to go to 25 that the AutoSet doesn't have...and of course pressure support exceeding the 3 cm available on the AutoSet.
The basics in terms of how to get to clinical menu and what's offered there is pretty much the same.
SmartStart is there....it was there on my S9 VPAP Auto and I used it all the time.

You can also watch a short video tutorial on how to access the clinical menu in your S9 -- see the link below in my signature box to the CPAP Library website.
