What to do with old machine?

Post by Lee Lee » Tue Apr 22, 2014 10:11 am

I have an old (2007) Auto Set Vantage APAP machine. Not sure what to do with it. I have other machines as a back up to my new S9. The DME said to toss it, but that seems like a waste.
Thoughts?

post it for sale

can post here and other CPAP forums and in your local free classifieds if they allow such devices, could just post anyways and see if they take the ad down.

there are some that do not have others (like insurance and governments) that will pay for a machine for them. they could use a good used machine. do not throw it out, others can get good use from it. would hate to see someone go with out just because they are not rich enough to buy a new one.

Being that it is seven years old, it is very unlikely that anyone will ever use it. Half the people won't use new ones.

Advertise it here as a donation to anyone who will pay the postage to get it.

Or, if they are needy enough & you can afford it, you ship it to them at no cost.

what do you want for it?
I would love a backup while I build a vintage CPAP machine from a blower.

if price is right I would be glad to get it, would make a cool unit to start experimenting with for a new sleep lab. will need something to base things on and would save me dismantling my working VPAP.

let me know what your wanting for it

Ask your municipality for the number of an electronics recycling centre so the thing doesn't get put in with garbage.

I would hang on to it until you see someone here in dire need of a machine & they can't afford one. Then PM them & arrange to send it for the cost of postage. That way, you would be doing a great favor to someone in need.

Jencat, yes that sounds like the right thing. Space45, I wouldn't want money for it, but I think I should give it someone who can't afford a machine.

That being said, anyone feel free to PM if you need a machine, as it still works fine!

Lee Lee,
I am not familiar with the data that the Vantage offers....what is available on the LCD screen in terms of data?
Is this a S8 looking model?
If it has decent enough data available on the LCD screen I know someone who this might help. We need at least AHI and leak data though..and don't want to have to find a card reader.
