Poll: How long is your hose?

Post by khallow » Fri Sep 14, 2007 7:08 pm

That sounds dirty.... I use a 6 foot hose but think I might want an 8. I feel restricted since my bed is tall. I also need to get a insulating tube for my hose as I get rain out. So, tell me.. how long is it?

HOSE?

Post by KAZ » Fri Sep 14, 2007 7:52 pm

I kept pulling the 6' hose that came with my machine loose during my nightly side to side travels. I went to a 10' which runs up over my headboard and problem solved. Actually an 8' would be just fine, Regards

I have always used the 6 ft and it was fine when I was sharing the bed and stayed on one side. Now that I am single again, I purchased the 8 ft hose so that I can hog up the whole bed if I want to.

Gee, sound just like gym class, I got one of the short hoses again. I use the 6 foot that came with and haven't had any problems, so haven't seen the need for anything longer.

(It's not the size, it's how you use it..... )

I put down 10 feet, but that's the one I've been using recently. Now that the weather's changing, I'll be using the Aussie hose, so I'll go back to 6 feet. I need to get a new power block for my Aussie hose since the one I have is cracked. Then I'll be 6 feet.

I thought this said "How long is your nose?" when I first saw it. .

Wait... does pinnochio Xpap? I would hate to fit that mask! (especially if he says he has no problems and is 100% compliant and, well you get the idea.... )

6', I have a PB 420E and it uses a special hose. If I didn't, I'd get an 8' hose--I think PB makes special longer hoses but I'm not willing to shell out.

I have an exceedingly tall bed also but I keep the machine on the second shelf of my nightstand and that seems to be high enough.

I Just have the standard 6 foot hose that came with it...and another 6 foot hose as a backup. I don't do the fancy stringing up that some do here either... it just lays next to me.

I use a 10ft. hose. I need to use one that long because I place my M-
series at the foot of my bed in my Motor home when I use it and I just seem to like to use that hose . I use it at home also because I tie the hose to a overhead shelf.

Shorter performs well

Am I the only one that saw no need for 6 foot hose (with that dangling "cooling loop" hanging between bed and nightstand) and found a three foot hose? I am an edge sleeper, with pap always within arms reach. The shorter the hose, the less opportunity for condensation. the Short hose with cover will rival heated hoses.

surf medical tubing to find hoses in lengths of 3,4 or 5 foot. You too might like the shorter, less condensating, hose...whoever set the standard at 6 foot and why.

I just switched to the 10 foot hose. I am using the Optilife mask and with the downfacing tube, I was getting tangled and would lose the seals. Now with the 10 foot everything is much better now.

I just use a regular 6 foot hose. My xPAP sits on my nightstand which is positioned right at the head of the bed. I have no headboard, so the hose jsut dangles a bit in between a bit and then lays on the bed next to my pillow, then curves back around to meet the mask. I've thought about using a scrunchie and fastening it to the wall, but I really haven't had any problems with it the way it is. Since my bed and nightstand are so close together, a shorter hose might even be better though!

Mine is 6 feet but if I needed to start using a longer hose which I don't would using a longer hose have an affect on the pressure my machine puts out? I thought I read that somewhere.
